A black nutjob, who executed a husband and father days after black extremists called for lynching white people and killing cops

A lot of circumstantial "evidence" there, fella.

What the hell are you talking about?

Am I missing sarcasm?

You're missing any direct link between black lives matter and this incident.

All I could find on the 'net is breitbart.com articles, which are extremist and not at all good journalism.

OK, I found more.

Were officials too quick to tie Texas deputy shooting to Black Lives Matter?
Law enforcement officials have arrested and charged a man in the shooting of a Houston deputy. The motive remains unclear.

While the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, officials were quick to link the incident to Black Lives Matter, the series of demonstrations against police misconduct. Goforth was white, Mr. Miles is black.

...

Miles, who has not identified any motive for the shooting, has previously been convicted of resisting arrest, trespassing, and disorderly conduct with a firearm, according to CNN.

...

In Texas, State Representative Garnet F. Coleman (D) of Houston criticized Hickman’s remarks.

“It strikes me as politicizing a death that, I don’t know that anyone knows what was in the mind of the shooter,” said Rep. Coleman, who is leading an inquiry into the death of Sandra Bland, an African-American woman found dead in a Waller County jail cell in July, according to the Times.

“I think black lives matter,” he continued. “I think deputy sheriffs’ lives matter. But I think the statement shows a lack of understanding of what is occurring in this country when it comes to the singling out of African-Americans.”

At least one of the movement’s leaders has also criticized Sheriff Hickman’s comments as misguided.

“It is sad that some have chosen to politicize this tragedy by falsely attributing the officer's death to a movement seeking to end violence,” civil rights activist DeRay McKesson tweeted.

I still think I'm lost. This officer was "aledgedly" shot by this black man. What does that have to do with breitbart? The shooting was a couple of days after remarks were made about killing cops.

Haha. So a guy pulled over for going 94 in a 75 and insinuating racism against the officer, when the dash cam clearly shows the honorable rep trying to swing his representative dick. And the leader of the black lives matter movement having issue with the police putting a black shooter who executed a white officer together with anything

There's zero connection between "remarks made about killing cops" and this shooting. Zero, none, nada, zip.

To assume this is to make a HUGE leap of bad logic.

Breitbart as a source makes such a leap. The cops who attribute anything to do with black lives matter with this case had no clue why the deputy was shot.

15 shell casings found at the scene. He unloaded his gun into this father of two after he shot him in the bac of the head like a fucking piece of shit coward

Seems to me that saying that there's zero known connection between "remarks made about killing cops" and this shooting would be a bit more accurate. This guy may have been a loon listening to voices in his head. There could be a million reasons that might be behind it. It's also possible that the amped up rhetoric in the BLM movement triggered him to target this cop, or any other that might have come across his path. Hopefully, we'll learn more in the days ahead as this thing is investigated further. One thing's for sure, though, the dynamic that's building in this country between the BLM movement and law enforcement is creating a tinderbox situation that's unlikely to produce anything good unless cool heads prevail. Unfortunately, the country seems to be experiencing a dire shortage of cool heads.

Maybe he was enraged by Trump's speech earlier in the day.

I mean, there's every bit a connection there. Ya know?

I guess that could be one of the million other possible factors I mentioned in my post.

Well, it's not very responsible to go making wild accusations against Trump or Black Live Matters or anyone else but the killer at this point.

CNN law enforcement analyst Harry Houck disagreed, saying the anti-police rhetoric is undeniable. He cited a protest in Minnesota over the weekend in which demonstrators held a banner saying "Black Lives Matter" and chanted, "Pigs in a blanket! Fry 'em like bacon!"
Texas state Rep. Garnet Coleman said it was "unfortunate" the sheriff tied Goforth's death to the "Black Lives Matter" movement -- or anything that has to do with police brutality -- so quickly.
But the sheriff had a point, he said.
"In general, I think the overall rhetoric is overheated, and it only leads to more injury and death," Coleman said Monday. "We're going to have to figure this out, whether it's training for police or having a sit-down to decrease the rhetoric -- particularly if it discusses violence at all."

A short video posted on Twitter shows that at one point in the march, at least several protesters were at the front carrying a banner and shouting, “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon!” as the camera pans to show police on bikes, squad cars and a utility vehicle.

...

The man who shot the video, who wanted to be identified only as Niko, said the chant occurred near the end of the demonstration as protesters walked away from the fairgrounds. He said it lasted about 30 seconds, and he added that when the chanting ended, a police officer laughed and made a joke about bacon.

Rashad Turner, the lead organizer of Black Lives Matter St. Paul, who helped set up the protest, said the chant was not a threat against officers’ lives.

“It was a chant,” Turner said. “I think that the crazy thing is that there’s all this uproar about rhetoric but there isn’t uproar about the facts. … Just because they provide us with their self-appointed escort does not mean it erases the fact that they are the deadliest police department in the state.”

Beginning in 2009, St. Paul police have shot and killed 11 men, nine of whom were people of color. No other law enforcement agency in Minnesota has used deadly force more often over the past six years.

Saturday’s march was the latest in a series of Black Lives Matter rallies and protests around the country, which have largely centered on police brutality in the aftermath of police killings of black men and women across the country.

Monday afternoon, when asked about the chant by an anchorwoman on CNN, Turner restated his concern that too much focus was being placed on “rhetoric.”

...

When asked by CNN if the chant by protesters in St. Paul Saturday incites violence, Turner said that the Black Lives Matter movement does not condone violent acts.

“We do not want to see black people being killed,” Turner told the Star Tribune. “We don’t want to see cops being killed.”

So why were they chanting that particular phrase Denny? It seems obvious to me that it would be inciteful.

Saying even once is just as bad as saying it many times. Also, the Black lives matter protest in NY said "Kill cops", the black panthers in TX came out with assault weapons and mentioned pigs in a planet as well.

The question is, will he be deemed mentally competent to stand trial this time?

What a terrible thing he has done....

Free speech has its consequences. The people seemed to be joking with the officers and the officers took it that way.
