I bet INdy is looking at the return Orlando got for Vuc, and just going slightly under with Turner. Vuc got 2 picks and a good young player in Carter. All it takes is one desperate and stupid team...

Fischer has been saying for a month now that the return for Vuc is what they seek for sabonis

Could tinker with that a little and add McConnel from Indiana to us and Smith to them. Or would be better financially and more palatable for Indiana if we sent Covington to them and got back McConnel
Or if Covington gives assurance he will re-sign with Portland, I trade Nance instead of him.
Lillard/ McConnell
Powell/ MacNamara (probably try to sign a free agent here)
Little/Roco
Siakam/Roco
Nurk/?/Watford

RoCo for Bagley/FRP

That (protected) FRP for Bamba

That is Orlando’s asking price.

that’s a ridiculous overpay for Siakam man.
Good, I appreciate the feedback. For me Siakam is a great two way player. He is a star to match with Lillard. I think CJ has very little overall value so for me I am getting Siakam, an established star with size and length for a just blooming one way star in Anf. As everyone says, Lillard needs help now. Siakam, for me, is by far the best player in this deal, and if you get the best player you usually win the deal.

BTW Siakam is just 27, hitting his peak years.

CJ still has value, there are less than 30 players in the league that average 20 a night, and most of them aren’t available in trades. And you’re also attaching Ant and Nance both who are valuable assets in their own right. That’s a ton to give up for a guy like Siakam. That’s the type of package you see for superstars, and he isn’t on that level, and I say that as someone that likes him. Most metrics grade him out as a top 40ish player this season.

I attached Nance (or Covington if he indicates he won't stay) because I don't think we will need both of them if Siakam is here and I have always liked McConnel. Also saves almost $3 million on the cap. But I understand that you and I have different values on both CJ and Siakam. I still think best player wins.
Anyone else have an opinion? @TBpup @James lamphear @hoopsjock Here is the trade again. Can substitute Covington for Nance if wished, Also can do it without trading either and not getting McConnell back. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y6vlkpzd

Little much

Add Chris Boucher to Portland

Or we keep Ant and Pacers send LaVert to Toronto as well

CJ/Nance/Simons/DSJ for Siakam/McConnell? That seems like a lot to give up. Our best young player, a bucket getter, a glue guy and a decent backup PG for a very good PF.

I like Siakam and think he would be a very good fit with Dame, but but that seems like a lot.

What about the simplified version? (Now I forgot what it is!) It's basically Anf and CJ for Siakam, same three teams.

They are desperately in need of a 'big'. I think they would prefer something built around Nurk coming back. There is also some rumor of them being willing to move OG because they think Scottie Barnes is the real deal. I'd be interested in what you could come up with involving some of those names.

you don’t trade Ant nor Little at this time. What if Dame (the old Dame) is no more? Post surgery that is. Then you must move on and not extend Dame at a crippling +$50 mil a year. Instead build around our young guys out there hustling - Ant, Little, even Watford. Move CJ / Nurkic / Zeller / Nance / Powell / and possibly Dame. The Neil OLSHEY days must be eradicated - it’s quite honestly a mess.

that’s a ridiculous overpay for Siakam man.

If the Blazers can't get Simmons, Siakam is the next big thing. Simmons goes nowhere but a deal centered around CJ + Roco or Nance plus change is all good with me.

I don't know. At this point I don't think Toronto wants to trade Siakam at all. They are talking about a core of 6-7 players and I think he is the center of that core. Guy had 18 points, 10 assists, 5 steals, 6 rebounds, 1 block last night, who would want to lose him?

My trade idea is simple:
Trade CJ and obtain Siakam, Simmons, or Sabonis...
Without giving up Dame, Nas, or Ant,
while staying under the Luxury Tax Threshold.

I have no idea whether this is possible at all.

Does this mean I don’t have to read any more Turner proposals? Probably not, but maybe hopefully.

what is a stress reaction? im guessing it's not as bad as a "fracture."

on the contrary, i think this could reduce his trade value and he could help us tank this year if he sits out for an extended period.

:)

idk I’m not a doctor but it looks like he’s gonna be out beyond the deadline.

Let’s buy low on Myles and sit him the rest of the year to heal up + help the tank :)
