An avenue to getting Jaylen Brown would be to let Ant play out the rest of the year—I think he could be looking at 16 ppg and 5 apg by the end of the season. There aren’t a lot of players Boston should trade Jaylen for. But a sign-and-trade for Simons and an additional 2-3 1sts would be beneficial for both teams. I think that Simons’ playmaking offsets the size difference, plus the included picks. It’s great to have two star wings, but they desperately need a guy like Simons or CJ. Anfernee and Smart would fit together. I also never realized how bad of a playmaker or primary ball handler he was until I watched more of him, but between Dame and Simmons, Brown wouldn’t have the primary ball handling responsibilities anyway.

If Ben only cost CJ, Covington, and the pieces from a Powell deal, you have a Dame + Brown + Simmons core. Your lotto pick could really be either a big or a guard now, you could draft the best available player.

This would be amazing. I'm in. Paging Mr Cronin!

View attachment 44232 Nah...we keep Ant, but deal Dame, CJ and Norm along with whatever assets are necessary to get Simmons, Brown and Ingram, and roll into next season with all the top three picks from 2016. I'm sure someone can figure out a way to make that happen.

nurk bought $15-$18 mil penthouse in downtown miami and says he plans on living there (probably it has nothing to do with potential trade or free agency, but still)

With him traveling to Bosnia and I'd assume wanting friends family to travel to the states it also makes more sense than a west coast location. Yes with Miami cap it probably has nothing to do with his free agent plans, more a long term lifestyle choice.

Yes right now that appears to be a huge win for the Blazers. First off I don't see either scenario likely from the 6ers or Celtics perspective.

Plus; Simons would have to improve quite a bit and at that point in the offseason we would probably have serious reservations of trading him away. He'd be there with Dame and Roy as the most talented young Blazer in decades.

Its a bit of a catch 22... for Simons to have the value to make these trades possible he needs to continue to look great, and if thats the case the Blazers should be more reluctant to trade him away.

Florida is an appealing place for young people to want to live regardless of your flavor of politics.
Decent tax structure too.

And on this, the 19th day before free agency, Lord Platy, the 1st of his name, has proclaimed that thou shalt dreameth large, or not at all, lest one be left with a minimal trade to get thee under thine cap, the last domain of an empty soul.

Tax structure is interesting aspect.... it probably doesn't matter for his NBA salary as that is taxed on the state each game is played. But if he is a Florida resident his endorsements and other income might have no state income taxes vs being an Oregon resident and those taxed.

true 'nuff. Could make it a little smaller/simpler. Doesn't look completely crazy, honestly.

Nurk Cocaine Fever!

Pretty sure I founded the Ant fan club here and I'd be sad to see him go but Philly would be a great situation that I would root for. Loved the AI era Sixers back in the day. Be pretty funny if we traded Simons for Simmons. Obviously its a gamble but I think its one you have to make. All in for Dame.
