You could very well be right. The 6ers remain to be seen, I guess we’ll find out by the trade deadline if he’s gone. If CJ, Covington, and like 2 1sts from a Norm trade + our 2nd can’t get Simmons done, I’ll wait for the draft or free agency and I’m coming back with a lesser offer than the original.Yes right now that appears to be a huge win for the Blazers. First off I don't see either scenario likely from the 6ers or Celtics perspective.
Plus; Simons would have to improve quite a bit and at that point in the offseason we would probably have serious reservations of trading him away. He'd be there with Dame and Roy as the most talented young Blazer in decades.
Its a bit of a catch 22... for Simons to have the value to make these trades possible he needs to continue to look great, and if thats the case the Blazers should be more reluctant to trade him away.
I don’t think you can be reluctant to trade Simons away even if Simons averages 20 and 5 if it’s for Brown. If that’s the case that Ant’s performing that well, you remove a 1st. Jaylen is only 25, so he’s young in his own right and is a good defender and scorer.
