which one?
thanks, i'll listen today.real ones. Koc and Verno were the guests
CJ is probably forced to help in the arbitration process as the president of the players union. It's a weird dynamic for sure. Say what you want about CJ, but he's the ultimate professional in being upfront in the media about these things. We haven't actually heard from Ben in 9 months in any interviews, only sources. CJ is fully transparent in talking about things head on....maybe he will publicly offer to help Ben stop hemmoraging money by demanding a trade to Philly?!![]()
Something that Kevin o Connor dropped on a ringer pod yesterday is that Portland has been active in talking to the Hawks about John Collins. Would be awesome if so.
Nas on the court for 82 games would be my dream.Nas as a starting SG is my wet dream.
I don't think Ant would interest the team with Trae.here's the question: if the Hawks wanted Simon for Collins would Portland agree? Should they agree?
I say no and yes
If the plan is to win with Damian, we need to consolidate and move depth for more top line talent. You can always find depth with cheap vets. IE, Mclemore, Milsap, etc.
If Cronin is actually serious, he would package CJ, Powell, Nance and Roco to get an all-star like Simmons or Siakam. If not, he can kiss the job goodbye.

Putting it all together.

We end up with Dame/Ant/Grant/Collins/Nurk
with Hart and Nas off the bench.

i am really warming to the idea of Collins as our second P&R big alongside Nurk. Unfortunately, ATL has really clicked as of late and are winning a ton. Not sure they'd be inclined to make a big move this deadline.too bad it’s Kevin O’Connor who dropped that. Atlanta was one of the teams connected to Powell ( I’d probably even do CJ)
Powell and Nance for Collins and filler? If they wanted a first we could use Roco to get one.
Putting it all together.

ATL prolly the biggest hang upIf only....
Not if we could get Ben Simmons for Ant. I like Collins, but Siakam or Simmons would be better. If we're going to give him up, you get back an all-star.

i might be amongst the few who prefer Hart to Jones anyway. I don't think Jones' 3pt shooting is sustainable given his track record in college. Good defender, no doubt, but he's also a 23 yr old rookie. On a good team, I think he's a good backup small ball center. Hart is a starter caliber wing who plays good team ball, decent defense, and is on a VERY reasonable contract for a 26 yr old vet.Herb Jones is not going to be included in any trades...been listening to NO podcasts about trades and no way they're trading him...all that chatter is coming purely from Blazer fans.....Hart you can get...not Jones

dream on, if Jones was here in POR on that contract and is playing like he is playing NO WAY would you trade him for what we are offering - move onI want Jones Damnit!

Isn't that almost the same thing I posted yesterday?Putting it all together.

I think Collins might be better than Siakam.
Ant hasnt proven anything long enough to warrant an all star coming back. It was one month. Be realistic. No sane (or an even insane morey) GM would take a one month hot streak from a player and trade an all star for him. Thats ridiculous.
haha! i honestly didn't see your post. yes, it's quite similar.Isn't that almost the same thing I posted yesterday?
forget about Simmons. The impasse between Morey & Simmons is toxic but unending.
that leaves Collins vs Siakam:

depend on what you want from a PF I guess. Now, those above are just this season's numbers. Career numbers:

Collins has a huge advantage in shooting efficiency, including a career mark of .384 from three. He's also a superior rebounder on both ends of the floor. Siakam might have an edge on defense and a bigger edge as a playmaker.
Collins has 4 more years on his contract at 25M/year. Siakam has 2 more years at 35M/year
I'd take Collins over Siakam
