Harden is an absolute ass. Was a baby and forced his way out of Houston to Brooklyn and now is pulling the same shit with them to force his way to Philly.

And there is 100% tampering going on with Morey

What a joke

If I'm Brooklyn I just might rather have Simmons and Curry than Harden and his pending supermax.

phila & brooklyn should make a deal, its for the best

both teams get players that can help them a lot and lose players that dont want to be on ther respective teams anymore

it all comes down to if daryl morey is ready to include other pieces like maxey or thybulle or curry... i dont think they will give maxey, they will give either thybulle or curry or maybe both, although unlikely

Yes but I'm more annoyed at the principle. Faking injuries and dogging it to threaten leaving in FA.

Man am I glad we have Dame

The issue for BRK doing this, is Simmons (like Kawhi) is a West Coast guy and that is where he wants to be. It is complicated enough to start with, but it might require a 3rd team.

Simmons is from Australia.

And he went to HS in Florida.

He has a mansion in LA but he has 0 ties to the west coast.

It might be, but those players mess with the cap space play. (unbalanced trades, not FA'cy) IF they were to do something like that, it would be later this summer from the impression I get.
You mean...the cap space intended to be used to bring in a legitimate player? If we can bring in a player by using the contract that we'll cut in order to create cap space to use to bring in a player, why not just make a decent trade now?

The value in doing it now, of course is that Bledsoe's NGC can't be of value to another team if we still have him 5 hours from now.

Sure, if it is the right guy. Some of those names that were listed are not close to being under consideration.

I think Neil may have hijacked Dwight Jaynes' Twitter account. DJ doing his best to downplay anything Portland can do now while completely ignoring what/who led us to this point and the almost entirely abject waste of time that last 6 years have been.

Really don't like they way anyone is acting in the Harden Simmons Morey Philly Brooklyn thing.

Harden is trying to force his way from one MVP teammate to another, plays shitty defense, and is out of shape.
Simmons is not playing basketball, appears mentally weak, and won't work on shooting
Morey is a total hypocrite, on the one hand demanding Simmons needs to honor his contract, on the other hand trying to get players like Harden under contract to force their way out
Brooklyn enabled these stars to run their circus. Pushing for stupid moves such as DeAndre Jordan instead of Jarret Allen.

Durant can kiss my ass... jumping to a 73 win team, then trying to build another super team. Wouldn't be shocked if he tried to demand a trade soon too.
Irving is obviously a flat earth believing vaccine denying idiot.

I like Embiid and Seth Curry. The rest can eat shit.

Dwight Powell is available? Hmm...interesting...

Makes $12 million next year (final year of his deal) and couldn't play with Nurk. It seems Joe would prefer the cap space.

Only way I could see it making sense to bring in Powell is if we do a Nurk trade and expect to be over the cap next year, such as also using the TPE now.

Simmons will be dealt and it will be to clear cap space to sign Harden in offseason. Just my gut....

Dame
Ant
Nas
Grant
Nurk

That's a playoff team, but sorry, still not a contender.

I'm not sold on Dame/Ant.

I'm not sold on Nurk.

Will Grant buy in? There's way too many questions there.
you are right. If the Trail Blazers want to try to be a contender, they need one of the best defenders in the league and the only one I can think of that's available is Ben Simmons.
But it could be that our new GM is just plugging in pieces like most people do. not really thinking about what it takes to be a contender.

We can still use that contract later; why mess up our tank?
Yes, we want to tank, but we also want to maximize our asset value. Dealing Bledsoe now would be of value if there were a team looking to move off of a player with a contract extending past this season, and wanted to take advantage of the salary savings next year by waiving him this year. Once we move past the deadline, his contract loses that benefit in trade.

How do we use it later? I think it has to be fully guaranteed to trade in full later, which no team would want to do.
Maybe as a $4M outgoing deal on draft day?

If he's not dealt today, I wonder if he considers extending his guarantee date to make himself more tradeable.

The EBEC is worth more today, than it is much later. But what Joe is willing to bring in to take up the cap space with what is available, is slim picking as of now. A couple of targets, but whether those come to fruition, is beyond his control right now.

Wouldn't it be the EBNGC? Or more precisely, the EBPGC?
