Seems like what local stores here are doing is having "curbside shopping" instead of curbside pickup right now.

The job market is going to be tight as fuck as competition to get available jobs will be hard. Get what you can, people!

fucking Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes is done.

Love that spot!

Ah, thanks for the context. Had never heard of them before.
Last time I went to a buffet restaurant was 1991, in Bend, and I had the runs for 3 days afterwards.

Norths Chuck Wagon on Hwy 97?

Entirely possible, I do not remember the name but 'chuck wagon' could certainly describe the general ambiance.

THE CHILI HAS MEAT IN IT
Only because it doesn’t sink to the bottom. I once watched a big ol’ boy spend a significant amount of time (with a line behind him) digging to the bottom of the “Big Chunk” chicken noodle soup to get literally every bite of chicken. His bowl was so overflowing he had to keep his hand over it to keep it from sliding off and dropping on the floor. That kind of behavior was common at Sweet Tomatoes.......and why it was always at the bottom of our list.

OBVIOUSLY NOT A SOUPLANTATION PRO.

Never been to one, my wife did and thought it was so so.

Crazy how people are having real issues getting their unemployment?
We know someone that filed in March and still doesn't have a check!
If this is what heavy duty socialism is about "government snafu's" I don't want anything to do with it!
Of course that why I lean more libertarian than any other party...

Humans are just animals too. Let's not engage in human exceptionalism.

That is hardly the fault of socialism. It's the fault of old, underfunded systems that weren't ever designed for the load that was suddenly dropped on them.

Libertarianism would say that we don't need unemployment at all, the unemployed can either find work or starve, either is totally fine.

na na na....it would advocate a fiscally responsible smaller government for sure and you could still have social assistance for those that need. However, competition and and innovation would also propel, and create prosperous opportunities for those interested. And we could still have privately owned sporting franchises that create entertainment and business's for millions, along with producing young millionaires that can help with social programs. Are you against solid fiscal management with the ability to produce more than Cuba or Venezuela?

That's not true at all. We just think it should be doled out in different forms than just a blank check to be spent however. I'm for helping those in need, but directly helping their needs specifically. Send the money directly to the power company, banks, etc.

No way FAMS. My kids LOVED Sweet Tomatoes growing up.

As long as you have people who adhere to the Trump cult way of thinking you're going to need a large bureaucracy to keep them in check.

Im just not a huge government guy, not opposed to a few social democratic programs education and health care where the person has the option to purchase private insurance or private school.
Sweden has this option. Nordic countries practice mostly free market economics paired with high taxes exchanged for generous government entitlement programs
Nordic counties were economic successes before they built their welfare states. Those productive economies, generating good incomes for their workers, allowed the governments to raise the tax revenue needed to pay for the social benefits. It was not the government benefits that created wealth, but wealth that allowed the luxury of such generous government programs.
The lack of government interference in business affairs, there is the fact that none of these countries have minimum wage laws. Unions are reasonably powerful in many industries and negotiate contracts, but the government does nothing to ensure any particular outcome from those negotiations. Workers are paid what they are worth, not based on government’s perception of what is fair.
