Game Thread The Debate! Donald Trump vs Kamala Harris!

He doesn't talk any kind of digestable policy because he doesn't have any and he wouldn't understand it if he did.

His policies are tax breaks for the rich. Deregulation for the rich. Massive tarrifs on other countries, threatening long held allies, being a dictator, and Agenda 2025. He knows what Agenda 2025 is. His people wrote it.
I guess policies wasn't the word I was looking for. He could've talked about gang troubles in Colorado as the sort of out there immigration story, instead opting for some Twitter brained waterfowl and hamster eating diatribe. He could've spent more time connecting Biden's administration to Kamala Harris instead of trying to damage control the dead in the water once Rudy started dripping soy sauce in a parking lot outside of a landscaping business election fraud story. You're in a debate, any talking point that requires an ABC documentary to explain to the average person should be thrown in the trash.

In some ways, I think Trump deep down wants to be popular. He hates the weird connotation. He had three conversations with Mike Pence in five years. He wants to be a 90s Democrat so badly, but is tethered to these deals with the devil on abortion, and having his VP handpicked by Thiel and his coke fiend elephant torturer of a son.

I've mentioned Project 2025 reminding me of the Agenda 2030 stuff the right wing was peddling in 2020 and during the pandemic. Trump will be a terrible president, again, but it's a safe bet that he's not going to become a fascist dictator. Democracy will keep rolling on. To be super honest about future projections of both parties, I don't see Trumpism, MAGA, lasting much longer after his departure from politics. But the integration of never Trumper neocons into the Democrat party is worrying, as someone vehemently anti-war...it's discouraging. Those people never leave. End up in administrations far past their expiry dates.

Trump said the same things about 10 times though...he only has a couple of trains of thought. 5 extra minutes for him is just 5 more minutes of the same bs he's been saying for the whole debate.
Works for about 30% of the population though...

Yeah, as I said above, the old Trump would say something funny, a one liner, get a solid piece of rhetoric in. A soundbite. He now uses rebuttal time to chain together his previous ramble. It's just a sign of how worn down he is, obsessed with his own legal issues and his past administration. Good on Harris for at least coming out of this with a pretty clean slate. They should continue to hammer home Harris as a potential 4 year off ramp as Trump ages out and things reset.

True but was blared.
I like @Chris Craig but just wanted to poke.

Reading this on my phone, I was so confused about why Chris not knowing about Taylor's endorsement made you want to puke.

All in all, that was the most entertaining debate I can remember.

Although I'm disappointed she didn't release the fly in this debate like last time.

You say that as if the extra time was a good thing for Trump.
I agree. I was honestly hoping Kamala would use one of her 90 seconds to just sit in silence. How gangster would it have been if she looked at the camera and said, “I want to use my 1:30 of time by not saying a word and having a moment of silence for all the innocent and vulnerable pets out there being slaughtered and eaten.”

After he is out of office or stops running, he will still try to play kingmaker and be part of selecting the next candidate...he will believe his endorsement is key.

I believe war should always be the last resort. I am also not naive. There will always be war and sometimes war will be necessary.

To many politicians aren't retiring when they should. We need new generations represented in federal offices. New ideas and visions for the country.

Don't really get the strategy of bunkering Kamala down like she's tail end Reagan. Get her out there on podcasts and doing interviews. Have her girl out on a Taylor Swift podcast or something, seriously. If Trump can do the meathead Theo Von tier circuit, she can do the liberal fluff equivalent. Not like she needs to go on Jimmy Dore or something.

Why does she NEED to do all that?
