i hope we're not stretching ourselves thin in this effort. while this madness is ongoing, there are other moves that can be made to bolster our current roster.
Agreed. At the same time, I feel like our moves are better done with trades than free agency, and this news likely slows everything down on that front.

If I were the Suns or Nets I would try to work out a sign and trade between Ayton and Durant

I don't get Brooklyn's motivation to acquire older talent...... they're a long way from competing if Durant is gone.

They don't have their own picks.

Also the players we are talking about here are not old lol. Ayton is 24. Bridges 25. Jaylen Brown 25 etc etc.

they can still assemble a playoff team, but thats all

maybe thats what will make joe tsai happy, its a profit after all

Brown would be solid.

Ayton and Bridges is so meh..... and so expensive.

Just because they don't have their picks doesn't mean they can't get young talent and picks from the other team. I guess I don't understand the strategy of bringing on enough talent to maybe make the playoffs. Doing it to screw Houston out of good picks?

I don't know what your idea of young is, but these are young players lol.

I'd be shooting for guys who are in that 19-22 range. Young enough that when they DO get their picks back, they're still well within their prime. Guys who are 24-25, and let's face it aren't really stars.... I'm not sure what purpose they serve. Ayton is going to be overpaid for what he is. They need to surround Simmons with shooters.

Ok

Lets see, Miami nightlife or homeless encampments. Tough choice.
So half of your tweet is accurate. Miami does have the night life but they also have more homeless per capita and far more homeless per square mile than Portland does. I get it that when a problem is in your face you think it's the worst it can get but what's actually happened is our city has just had an influx that is putting it closer to other major cities. Just want things to be clear.

jake said this could end up with Kyrie going to the Lakers.

ugh

Portland is not LA in terms of lifestyle for these players.
Exactly. That’s why your comment about Portland being too far from their families on the East Coast makes no sense. It’s not a matter of distance; it’s a matter of lifestyle and culture.
