No.. You have no clue how racist the shit you do is... People who do the most racist shit always try to explain how they are not racist. You do this all the time. You don't have to call me colored directly. Wherever black people go we represent our whole race (another thing you have no pespective on). So when you say colored yeah you were talking to me. One who and does racist things who tries to say he's not racist while simultaneously whining because he can't say his racist things...

You represent your whole race?

So if I say I think OJ is guilty, I am really accusing you?....Quick, someone call the authorities. We've found who killed Nicole Brown Simpson

I can say petceived racist things. Sly asked me not to, so I am choosing not to because I like Sly and Denny

Sooooo...

For right or wrong here is my take.

I deleted the black joke and left the Asian jokes. MM was clearly joking around with Mags so the Asian jokes made sense in the context of the conversation. Tossing in a black joke didn't so I removed it.
That's racist!!!!!

All forms of humor offend someone.

Yep. Its sad being censored. I literally can't stand it, and think Sly was wrong for asking the jokes stop and deleting one, but it's his forum....so to speak and I'll try to make him happy cause he works hard on this

Sly, please stop liking racist jokes after adking me to stop. That seems kinda messed up

That's racist!!!!!

That's a "chink" in Sly's armor!

You can't be racist against white males, sometimes you might be able to be racist against white females, but generally not because patriarchy or something.

The one thing to come out of this is 100 years from now white males can scream about how unfair things are to people who had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Gonna have to ask dviss. My guess is he says no because it has to do with a white cente. But don't dare call Oden ChocolateGorilla

What if someone said there's no need to add "chocolate" when you're talking about Oden?

Irish were treated like shit when they first came over. Now everyone lumps them in even with the whites that had it easy.

I'm like 15% native American, 33% Irish, and the remaining is various white.

I'm conflicted with myself because 48% of me (or ancestors) got treated like shit :( while the other 52% was ballin outta control

The Chicago Post wrote, "The Irish fill our prisons, our poor houses...Scratch a convict or a pauper, and the chances are that you tickle the skin of an Irish Catholic. Putting them on a boat and sending them home would end crime in this country."

In little more than a century his prophecy rang true. Irish-Americans had moved from the position of the despised to the oval office.

Predominantly Catholic, love America but still loyal to their home country, a minor holiday primarily used by most Americans as an excuse to drink; you know, it's amazing how much of that article about the Irish in the 1800's could be applicable to Mexicans today. This section seemed particularly translatable:

Actually the Irish arrived at a time of need for America. The country was growing and it needed men to do the heavy work of building bridges, canals, and railroads. It was hard, dangerous work, a common expression heard among the railroad workers was "an Irishman was buried under every tie." Desperation drove them to these jobs.

Not only the men worked, but the women too. They became chamber maids, cooks, and the caretakers of children. Early Americans disdained this type of work, fit only for servants, the common sentiment being, "Let Negroes be servants, and if not Negroes, let Irishmen fill their place..." The Blacks hated the Irish and it appeared to be a mutual feeling. They were the first to call the Irish "white nigger."

A prominent hotel keeper was asked why all the women servants in his hotel were Irish. He replied, "The thing is very simple: the Irish girls are industrious, willing, cheerful, and honest--they work hard, and they are very strictly moral. I should say that is quite reason enough."

Obviously, anti-discrimination laws make it not quite as bad now for Mexicans as it was for the Irish then (we certainly don't have "No Mexicans Need Apply" signs), but I think the parallels are too numerous to ignore.

Quite right. And the need for labor is the same today. The thing that is alway left out of the need for labor statement is the need for low cost labor. The old saw about "Americans won't do it" is bull shit. They won't do it for the wage offered since it is below the safety net support. Let the wage rise (without government interference) util it attracts the labor and then things are working properly and no one is exploited.

To play devil's advocate, one might argue that without the welfare safety net, there would be plenty of people willing to work for very little (since it's better than nothing), and the companies would have little-to-no incentive to raise the wage they offer.

I just find it odd that Irishmen were treated like shit and no one gives a fuck or ever brings them into the conversation

I will add too, I have a very Irish/Scottish last name and have had coworkers, cashiers checking my I'd, managers etc make jokes about it or comments about quilts, drinking etc. Funny thing is.... I don't care

Perhaps but it isn't working that way is it? The government both, sets the net and allows the flood of immigrants to push down the wage.
