Yeah thanks I agree the meaning was clear, MF can fix articular cartilage defects for a decade or longer.

I don't know if I would say it really "fixes" it. MF can help produce the soft fibrocartilage, but your likely not getting the hard hyaline cartilage back. I had a form MF 17 years ago and I guess it helped for a short time with high school sports even though I was never comfortable enough jumping off that knee again. I can't imagine being a professional athlete with it. Obviously on a totally different note, last year the area they did MF on 17 years earlier was never really too successful, and became 2.5x2.5 centimeter hole that was filled with the fibrocartilage. There were several options to fill the hole, but only one that included getting the hyaline cartilage back, and that was a transplant from a donor knee that had the hyaline cartilage already on it. I waited 8 months for that piece to come in, and now I'm 6 weeks post surgery, hoping for good results when i can walk again.

A very informative post. Repped!

Just my experience with MF, Dr. Pennington, and trying to research it. What kind of link you want John?

edit: oh and I'm far from an expert on it, just what I remember from researching.

Oden was going to announce it today, but he sneezed and then stubbed his toe on his way to the microphone. Poor guy blew out his knee again.

My medical advice is this: Stay out of the shower!

So much bitterness about G.O. It's like the nerds demand...a sacrifice or they shall say KNEE!! again!

KNEE!! KNEE!!

Center Greg Oden probably won’t decide among the Heat and five other teams until this weekend, agent Mike Conley Sr. said Tuesday, adding that formal offers haven’t been made yet. He said the Heat has seen “all it needs to see” from a medical standpoint and that Oden won’t necessarily take the highest offer. But asked if a Heat offer at the $1 million minimum would be good enough, Conley said he was not sure.

Saw that Oden was at a Ping Pong charity tournament in Las Vegas over the weekend. It's hard to tell, but in the pictures, he looks like he might be in decent shape.

Oden looks leaner than I've seen him since we drafted him. Fuck. I think he's going to be awesome.

Oden's equipment is longer than that guy standing next to him.

I hope he succeeds in San Antonio, or fails miserably in Miami. :ghoti:

That's a great shot of him and Nate Robinson...

Oden's decision will be based on which practice facility has the best handicapped parking and access.

I hope he fails wherever....not because I dislike the guy, just because I'm selfish and don't want to be miserable all season with him succeeding elsewhere. :devilwink:

Let's assume he gets this contract; which is 100% IMO. What's the forum opinion on how many games he will play before he's done?

I say 40 games in 2 years
He'll average sixty games per season for the duration of this contract.

A 60 game season average would make it hard to stomach for me. That's all I ever wanted.

I think it's going to be hard to stomach for a lot of Blazers fans even the ones that are saying they will be happy for Oden.
