wow....how long was it?
Did you throw it on the BBQ?

lol...nah, I just kill 'em...I've tried rattle snake meat before but not my cup of tea....the timberback was just a hair over 4 ft, which is big for their type but again, I've never seen that many rattles on any kind of rattler.

Here a picture of another timberback I shot in my yard a few years back and he was much smaller than the one I killed yesterday (machete)...maybe 3 1/2 ft...don't know if you've ever seen those BS pictures on the net of people claim that the picture is of a 10 foot'/100 pound rattler...no way someone could hold a 100 pound snake way out in front of them.

And to prove the point to my wife we took a picture of me holding a small timberback on a broom handle way out in front of me which puts the snake about 6 feet closer to the camera than I was...the snake might have weighed 5-6 pounds but the illusion makes it look like a monster.

Thats badass. What state do you live in with all these rattlers?

I was fishing the Deschutes last summer near the mouth, looked down and there was a rattle snake swimming right in front of me, my grandson to a stick and picked it out of the water and laid it on a big rock to look at close up. When a park ranger drove by I flagged him down and he put the snake in a 5 gallon bucket to release him elsewhere. He told me that they were seeing a great many more snakes in the region than years past and wasn't sure why?

I was at first gonna say, you just kill them?? Why??.. But then...

These things come in your yard? ?? Holy Jebus!!! I would set up mines around my perimeter!!! Illusion or not....

Did you kill the snake yourself?
Nope..a friend in Taiwan had a factory that made stuff and I got a bag of them for free...they were the perfect size for a guitar strap but too small for his projects. I still have some left over somewhere

Sounds like you and Yankee should team up and start a business. He supplies the skins, you create the products.

retirement rocks.....I'm done! I'm in the purging stage of life...don't need to add more crap to the planet. They have to be done making guitars at this point, how many can they sell? sometimes it's time to stop and use what we've got you know?

I had steak and eggs this morning. How do we all like our eggs? Over medium for me. I'll take poached too if I want to take the time. Also, a french omelette is always nice.
Poached or over easy. Or scrambled if mixed with half and half and done right. Haha I dunno. I like eggs every way I guess

I generally do an omelette. American-style, though, loaded up with stuff. Cheese, some type of meat usually ham, onions, diced green peppers, diced tomatoes. Maybe some crumbled bacon. That sort of thing.

That's what I like to make, as well. Also, love red potatoes in a cast iron skillet. A bit of rosemary and garlic added.

I've been eating a lot of protein...eggs, meat, etc., and cutting way back on the bad carbs...always works well for me when I wanna drop a few pounds.

Packing up the Cougar and heading out to Lake Simtustus around noon tomorrow.
Yank59 got me all freak out on those rattlers, got my S&W and ax, so them vipers better keep their distance...

omelettes are my specialty.I use chives and cheese...add soy milk to the oil and eggs to give it some fluff.....second choice would be scrambled with tomatoes, garlic and onions....I top off the eggs with my wife's homemade Kimchi...

Love me some Kimchi, my daughter in law is Korean and always has it around. Korean bbq is great too.
