The "How are Aldridge, Batum, Lopez, and Matthews Doing?" Thread

Aldridge had a good game tonight, but lost to the Pacers. 3 months ago, a Pacer assistant praised a Maverick at halftime, but what would that have to do with the thread topic, former Blazers.

Myles Turner looked real good against Aldridge last night-- LA got his numbers but the impact was minimal. PG vs Kawhi was a SICK matchup.

Wes went 27 minutes in a loss without making a shot again...man did we dodge a bullet there

I know he tore his achilles but damn I had no idea it would KILL his shot that BAD this season. My goodness.. Why hes not being benched is beyond me, they should atleast see if he would be better in a 6th man role

Kind of feel bad for him but then again he's making $70 million so I really don't. We got great years out of him. The Mavs decision looks worse and worse. He's a full year removed from injury and basically the same as his first games this season.

Wes was awesome to root for here but he wasn't a transcendent player or anything. He was a Jerome Kersey super role player. I could understand the max contract with an injury if he had been Durant or a borderline MVP as Elton Brand was. But Wes was always atrocious on fast breaks, no ball handling, couldn't jump. He's going to be 30 before next season; he's a few years past his athletic prime regardless of injury.

It's mind boggling Mark Cuban makes moves like this; but he wouldn't pay cheaper contracts to keep a title winning team months after the franchise won its only title.

You can use the ignore thread option though....I think fans who have invested many, many years in a starting core of players naturally monitor their progress...I watch Batum and Mathews games all the time because I have liked them for so long. There are posts praising Batum and Mathews and even Rolo in this thread but Lamarcus is not gettin' love anytime soon around here. I've enjoyed this thread a lot more than the multiple 90 page Meyers sucks threads....choices

There's a 90 page meyers bashing thread?

And yeah, people love Wes, but see the decline. Batum has done well.

LMA made Portland hate LMA, so that's on him.

If such thing exist I will happily read it all.

I was very sad when we let Wes go... But I understand we are retooling, plus, we dodged a bullet apparently so I'm more than fine now.

Wes was never going to be worth that contract and I was glad the Blazers never even entertained the idea. With the injury, Wes priced himself out of Portland. Even without the injury, that contract would have made it much more difficult to build a contender. Plus, we had CJ waiting in the wings. No hard feelings here, just thankful it's Cuban on the hook for it and not the Blazers.

Apparently Aldridge is back on the Blazers, and we crushed the Spurs, while LMA was wearing a Spurs uniform AND while playing the Wizards. Impressive.

Also, that's a Minnesota jersey..... looks like Dieng... wtf.

I was doing research on the Spurs over/under game and I came across an interesting stat that I thought I would share.

LaMarcus Aldridige has not made a single 3 pointer this year. Now, he has only attempted 15 total this season but he attempted 105! and made 37 for us last year. You would expect him to make at least one (more like 5) so far this season on those attempts.

But this also shows that Pops is keeping his butt in the paint much more than Stotts.

I've always maintained the Warriors can't guard Aldridge. We would've beaten the Warriors in 5 games last year.

Tony Parker did a great job guarding Curry in that game..you could tell he took it seriously. Lamarcus doesn't get double teamed playing with Kawai Leonard like he did with the Blazers. 26 and 13 was a very Blazeresque stat line for him. The Spurs are ridiculously deep.

Rolo had 23 and 20 last night in a loss last night..career stats for him. Melo was out with a headache and Afflalo did nothing for the Knicks.

Called it earlier this year. Their defense is tops.

Yeah! I was impressed by Aldridge's play against the Warriors. Aldridge came out on Curry, the guy was out there tap dancing with Curry's gyrations. It worked too.

I've moved on from the LaMarcus hate; really don't care if he wins a title or not. Kind of would like to see the cocky Warriors put in their place by a bunch of old men.

I think Aldridge and the Spurs knock off the Warriors this year in the WCF.

I think it's 60% the Warriors take it in 6 games, 30% the Spurs take it in 7 games.
I don't think that GSW@SAS loss means anything, really.

I think Jeff Van Gundy described it well when he said: "Outstanding loss by the Warriors". Curry and (i think) Klay were caught on a very rare bad shooting night, the Warriors missed players,it was a home game for the Spurs and the Warriors still had a shot at winning.

You might say the Spurs shut Curry down, but we all know he usually hit ridicules shots at a great percentage so i'm not buying it yet.

And also, we all know what happens in a night when Lamarcus can't shoot that mid range shot :tornado:

Spurs couldn't hit anything from three in that game either. They missed something like 14 of their first 15. It wasn't Golden State's defense either their three's were great wide open looks. Spurs made the game very physical for Curry which was a big reason he missed so many shots. Yeah he probably makes more in other games but they still can throw defenders at him as no other team in the league can.

Your prediction is odd because you think the road team is winning the final game? I think the Iggy injury is huge; the Spurs already have better depth. Bogut and Ezeli have injuries. If Golden State's bench is depleted the Warriors won't be able to run as they like to. It could end up similar to the second SAS-MIA finals where the Spurs just hit them with waves of players and eventually the Heat got totally exhaustion after a few quarters.

Thats of course if the Warriors can survive us once we beat the Clips.
