The "How are Aldridge, Batum, Lopez, and Matthews Doing?" Thread

Actually, you do. That's not a criticism, just fact. Dame's shooting has been all over the board, with several of his big scoring games only coming from red hot fourth quarters after being ice cold through three quarters.

And yet, despite being "streaky," he's still averaging over 20ppg over the last 10 games, and a hair over 20 ppg and 11 assists in February. To me, streaky means he'll go out and drop 30 in one game, and 12 points in the next game. Nic Batum was streaky. Dame might not always have his three point shot going, but he still generates 20+ points every night.

EXACTLY. Love the guy but hes too damn "Feast or Famine", I can guarantee you if he was on another team everybody on this board would be saying what we're saying.

For example today, he'll shoot under 42%.. Book it

Sorry but your boo is a streaky good nba player. Nothing more, nothing less. The best thing about Lillard is his leadership but his game is just too streaky. His percentages too low. One week hes hot the next week hes cold. To unreliable..

Sounds like Lowry.

lol. You love being right when the player is bad.

When the player is good, you're nowhere to be seen. Only like to be right when it's bad.

That must suck. At least I show up when Meyers does well.

I want you to define famine. Are you strictly talking about shooting percentages? Because in my book, he does A LOT more than just shoot the ball, so to attribute the word "famine" to Lillard is completely ridiculous.

Shooting percentages. I think the reason they suck is his dumb shot selections sometimes

Shut up man you know damn well I always show up when he does well

So one aspect of his game is what draws constant criticism from you? And by constant, I mean all.......the...... time.

That's an odd definition, but okay... Inconsistent can be quarter to quarter just as sensibly as it can be game to game.

You act like other players don't have up and downs too. It's a part of the game. You act like he should be a robot, when he's only human. Everybody has bad games and good games but you condemn him for it.

And please stop using the "feast or famine" line. You're definition of famine is when his shooting percentages are low, and I've seen you say stuff like "this is going to be a famine game for Lillard" after a first quarter where he has 5 points (2/7FG), 5 assists, 3 boards, a steal etc. You call it famine just because he missed 2 shots to put him below 50%, when he's doing many other things for the team.

He doesn't become trash just because he shoots under 50%. Even games under 40%, he'll still have a great game with 10 assists, 5 boards, etc. Basketball isn't just about FG%, and I think you might be able to contribute to the wealth of knowledge on this site once you realize that.

That's fair

He doesn't play basketball anywhere anymore (failed in Croatia, Turkey, and the D-League) so he certainly has the time.
Pretty sad when the highlight reel of your career consists of picking your nose on national TV

Matthews is getting destroyed by mavs fans. He doesn't look like the player he was in Portland but it's still pretty brutal.

Love that he got paid for his work ethic here.... but that might have been the biggest move we did last offseason, not resigning him.

Wes is not a starting quality 2 anymore....I watch him all the time and the dude is a shell of himself. I hope he finishes out his obligations in Dallas takes early retirement and comes back to be an assistant on our bench. Cuban took a hell of a gamble giving him that contract.

I feel bad for Wes he was a warrior but my goodness he's so bad this year. What gets me is how does your percentages take a noise dive like that? I understand the Achilles thing and all that obviously but I don't get how you shoot THAT BAD when you weren't that athletic in the first place

He put A LOT of pressure on his ankles when you watch closely, dude took hard steps.

You can't play that way after an Achilles, look at Kobe for example.

Wes was always a workout warrior and has put a lot of wear and tear on his body. It wouldn't surprise me if his career is shortened. He's a maximum effort guy in everything. Which is just sad because what a player.

Batum with a classic disappearing act last night.
