You know what's going to be both sad and funny.

They will enact these in aurora and that one town in Ohio...

Then realize NONE of this is happening. But they will go "we found one instance so it was successful".

It's going to be an unmitigated disaster for them.

Mine expired in December, Ive been really lazy about renewing it. I think you can do most of it, if not all of it, online and just send in your old one. But knowing Mein Führer, he might not let anyone who isn't rich and white get one renewed. Esp if they didn't vote for him.
 
I'm not far away from finding an exit strategy out of this country. Trying to consider how I would make my income being in another country. Something online ideally.

Yeah, it's definitely looking to be shit... Wondering what the best options are. Maybe it would be best to just sell everything and leave the country... Or at least sell everything so we could leave easily if it came down to it?

Democrats aren't ever clawing back what's going to be turned back by this Prez. So with or without him, America is likely to get harder and harder to live in if you're not a boomer. It's hard to think about but considering options out of here is the only responsible thing to do. I have a couple more options before I start really focusing in that direction.

They were. The do-nothing Democrats and the Republicans have been racing this country to the bottom. I don't anticipate it changes anytime soon until all hell breaks loose.

Seems to me that Trump, Musk, Vance and the whole Republican "party" are doing their best to literally incite a civil war so that Trump can seize permanent control, declare martial law and make himself permanent "leader". The pace at which they are dismantling democracy is a very clear signal....at least to me.....

Well the Democrats would have never done all this crazy shit. Our government would still be in place if they were in power.

It's fascinating to see Trump vilify Zelenskyy for declaring martial law in Ukraine during an actual invasion while simultaneously maneuvering to do something similar with much less justification. Hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Stands good odds of inciting a civil war or being distracting enough that they can pull off a coup and retain power indefinitely.

How far can you push the people before the people push back? How much can you take away before the people say no more and take the streets? We may yet see.
 
What good does collapsing the economy do for the rich? Their money and wealth will be meaningless and worthless if the bottom falls out.

Yeah that's what I keep coming back to. At the end of the day, we are in a "when, not if" situation, and none of us have seat belts.

The wealthy make money on large swings. Especially if they know it's coming (like Congress and their lobbiests do).

They short it prior to the collapse and the further it falls the more they make. Then they buy in at the bottom and ride it back up. The higher it rises the more they make.

Rinse, repeat.

An added benefit to the wealthy is that this is horrible for the working class, so people become desperate and accept worse working conditions for lower pay.
