Looks like Kimmel is going to be back on the air this Tuesday.

Jimmy Kimmel Is Back: ABC Returning Late-Night Show On Tuesday

A spokesman said, “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.”

"After talking to Jimmy, we realized we never made him sign a no compete contract and can't force him to sign an NDA, and he could submarine us worse than Donald can."

Sinclair sucked before this, and they suck now, and they will suck in perpetuity.

I believe someone needs to sacrifice a dog.

When Sinclair takes over local newscasts, studies show Republican vote increases by 3-5%. Enough to swing close election.

I'm skeptical that's all due to Sinclair

not that I don't believe Sinclair has an impact, but that there are several factors working in concert. The right wing already dominated talk radio. And Fox News was beginning to roll along and dominate cable "news" around the same time that Sinclair was expanding. And as the internet made local and national newspapers vulnerabe and obsolete, the right wing moved into that void. More recently, the right wing has fundamentally started to dominate social media; and podcasts and Youtube. And while all this has been happening Democrats and the left wing have been either asleep at the wheel or winging their hands...or more aptly, always bringing knives to gunfights

I know this will piss you off, but the Democratic Party somehow convincing themselves that a liberal...black...woman...from...San Francisco...California was actually going to win the election in those critical swing states was political malpractice

The study wasn't about presidential elections, it was about local. People skeptical of national news tend to trust local newscasts.

There is no way she would have won a primary. No chance at all.

Oh FFS. Do we really need to relitigate what people "know" based on ???
I kept hearing the problem was Democratic candidate was not a progressive. Now the problem is candidate was too liberal.

I think it'll be tough for any Californian to win if they aren't a Republican. To be from San Francisco, a woman, and not white was a real tall order. She needed to have a super populist platform that she knew front to back (and believed in) to even come close.

And I don't even know what her platform was...

As a follow-up: advice I read somewhere from a guy who worked in TV for decades: watch the station and take note of the advertisers. Call the advertisers and tell them you are boycotting their products because they are advertising on Sinclair.

Taping Kimmel tonight. Sorry, no way can I stay up.
I honestly don't know how to watch actual terrestrial channels (ABC, NBC etc.) since the switch to digital. Are they part of my Samsung TV channels? I miss PBS...
