He knows...

“I continue to study my film hard, try to understand particularly last year why maybe I affected shots, but I wasn’t blocking shots and it frustrated me. I wanted to know why that was the case because a lot of times, I communicate, I understand what we want to do, but I don’t always execute at the very last moment… It’s been a lot of watching film and when you get in a rhythm you feel good, your intensity rises and just more opportunity for me I think allows me to continue to excel, improve and be an impact player on both ends of the floor,” Leonard said.

When I hear Meyers say things like the last part, it makes me think he's spent a lot of time with a sport psychologist

Meyers looks like he is over thinking. Trying too hard. Contrast how he moves to a.c., who is much more natural.

The fact is, he's here now. So, no sense rooting for him to fail. It doesn't help the team in any way. If he continues to post solid numbers in limited minutes, it can only improve his trade value. If you really want Meyers gone, you should be cheering for him to have a career year.

So Neil can re sign him for another 4 yesrs?

If he plays every game like he did last night, sure. Why not. Who wouldn't want a backup center who averages 15/12 in 21 minutes with a +16 in the box score. Hell, if Meyers played like that every night, he'd be a bargain at his current salary. Nurk averages 15/10 in 25 minutes and most people thought we got a good deal when we re-signed him for 4 years/$48 million.

Of course, you and I both know the odds of that happening make winning Powerball look like a sure thing. But, I'd rather see that than see him suck just so we don't resign him.

Serious question, all things considered, is Meyers the worst blazer of all time?
After watching his charge, unnecessary dunk, spike ball into player, grab ball and flex, mean face turned girly smile then to top of off....technical!...up by 30 with 2 minutes to go...it’s hard to imagine a world where the answer isn’t yes.

I was thinking more on this subject last night:

Is he the worst player in the history of the NBA? All things considered.

Even more, is he the worst player in the history of the big four sports?

That play was the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen. I think I'd legitimately cut him on the spot if I was NO, finances be damned.

This has to be hyperbole right...?

Naturally, but I posed it as a way for people to prove me wrong. Do you have anyone in mind that's notably worse, TBF?

Beyond just basic skill (there's plenty less skilled), who is so far from reality that they actually think they're decent but yet even their best attempts are so far off base? Old Melo comes to mind.

So what exactly is the criteria? If skill is off the table?
It seems to me if Olshey had of put him on a cheaper contract most of us wouldve forgot all anout ML at this point.

Meyers is probably the best case study for sports phsychologists. He rides the waves of emotion like nobody else. It’s always an extreme, never a balance. I actually think he’s somewhat intelligent, and he doesn’t know how to turn it off during a game. You can literally see him going through the mental checklist whenever he’s on the court. But basketball is jazz babyyy.

If Olshey didn’t give him that contract he would be in Slovenia right now.

You Blazer haters are way off with your insulting comments. Consider these thoughts from this Blazer fan who would like to see this team do its best.

Meyers is the NBA playoff record swish3 percentage shooter and has lead the team in swish3 shooting last and previous seasons. For achieving this, I rate him among the most talented NBA shooters. You can find the statistics in the "is Meyers for real" thread in the BNM Basketball-reference quotes.

It is not possible to know what Meyers, Dame, Nurk, CJ, or any Blazer is thinking. It is nothing but projecting verbal abuse to pretend that you know their thinking or can judge mental states. While you might deduce happiness, optimism, energy, determination, and celebration from the images that you see televised, you can't read their thoughts or even guess the psychology that you so maliciously post here.t

It is time to focus on making the best use of talents on the Blazer team and to end the flow of counterproductive comments in this thread. I suggest that we instead explore how to optimize conditions for Meyers to contribute 16-20 points, 5-12 rebounds, and 12-16 screens each game and keeping the Blazers on the 70%+ winning curve.

You do realize there's a difference between hating a team and hating a player on the team... right?

Strenuus, you do realize that the disrespect shown in this thread is harmful to the Blazer team and lowers the chance for success, don't you?

How does Meyers like his eggs? Soft scrambled?
