NY was intent on clearing cap space to sign Brunson. So any added salary we sent would have had to o to a 3rd team.

Good view...I have just a couple of comments.

Knox is the kind of "long" depth that this bench needs.
Mays has BB smarts that showed these last few games....good depth.
Undervalue on Drew. Who could the team get that will outwork him at his price?
Butler just started to show some gumption. Hard to teach 7'.
Hard to tell with Cam. High ceiling, will he achieve it?
Winslow is missing an ability.....availability.
Watford got better and he works his ass off. He has replaced some of what we lost in Hart.
Love Mathreece, but not sure if there is more than what we saw.
Little has game, not able to throw the switch at will.

Yeah I didn't think about that. My smooth brain seemed to only really remember that they had gotten Duren for our shitty pick and it made me wish that we had just gotten Duren. I forgot there was all that other stuff going on.

Miami is going to be open to trading a lot of different players... so that's the first team with a couple of guys that would make us better to definitely underperform.

I honestly think that if we win the lotto and basically have to take Wemby because he's just that high of an upside prospect, we could still get Bam and he would be great with a guy like Wemby. If the more likely thing happens and we don't end up with the first pick then our pick will be in play.

I think a package of Ant, Nurk and 3 to 4 first round picks for Bam and letting them dump Duncan Robinson would be enough. We would then need to acquire a backup PG and a backup big but I think between the TPMLE and our second round pick quality backups for those two positions could be found.

I'd like to give Mays a shot as the backup point guard. It's hard to really know who to keep without having gone through the draft and free agency and trades. I'm fine with keeping most of those guys. I'd probably get rid of Winslow and Keon. I don't think Winslow can stay healthy and Keon has been a bust so far.

yeah. Would be nice if this current iteration would fade away like Ball did. the schtick ran its course long ago. Not sure it was even funny in the beginning, but after so many posts about never being wrong, touting a “better than thou” vibe, ive given up. problem is no one can put him on ignore. Sure would be nice if he would get past the inflated ego… its gone beyond sour….
As a mod, i would have expected a bit more sympathy from him towards those who cant put him on ignore…

If im to lower expectations anymore, i will then expect compensation for my time. Like i should have been paid to eat my sammich today. Third time in 7 orders this has happened.
So on that same line of thinking, which mod should i hit up for a credit due to having to continually lower expectations?

Now, as an unignorable mod who is supposed to strive for a higher standard, I'm not going to suggest that that indicates that you belong among them, but that definitely sounds like something @Natebishop3 might say.
 
If we get #2 in the draft, would you do a Dame-for-Bam+ pieces trade?

We take Scoop and have Scoop/Ant/Sharpe in the back court. With Thybulle and whomever else we add for depth.

We re-sign Grant and have him, Bam, and Nurk across the front line. Little and Watford off the bench.

I know that doesn't seem like a great haul for Dame, and I know some people are against trading Dame, period. And I know it depends on what the other pieces are.

But that team seems like it's better and better-balanced than what we have had with Dame the last few years. It's also younger.

How much do you hate it? :)

Sucks. Doesn't move the needle one bit towards contending. Scoot hasn't proven one thing. You get excited off what, G League performances. The better option is using that pick plus Simons to go after Mikal Bridges.
