That team won't go anywhere until they have an actual point guard, but I'm not sold on Love either.

Love is like Wilkens. Can give you a ton of empty stats that has everyone gushing over him, but the team just fails in their lead. But at least Wilkens made the playoffs a few times!

And they were upset because they felt it was stupid because they're not in their division.

I'm guessing they were either kidding about it, or clueless as to how the schedule works in the NBA (vs the NFL or MLB).

The Lakers will only have Kobe on the books after next season. That's $25 million in salary.

by the time he does, Kobe will be even closer to retirement than he is now (if he's not already falling towards it. not saying he is, just saying he might be), and if they get Love AND Kobe, that's like almost 40 million for just those two.

Love is a beast. I don’t know how anyone who watched that game can’t be impressed with him. I agree with TWolves fans he looked like a hall of famer last night. His team around him is a disaster. Is Love supposed to stop Kevin Martin from turning it over with 12 seconds left and the lead? Or Pek’s point blank game winning bricks? Or wisper sweet nothings into Rubio ear when he shoots? Detractors said the same things about Kevin Garnett not being a winner until he left that mess of an organization. Even some TWolves fans don’t blame Love if he wants to save himself.

I can’t dog on Pek too much; him and Love are an unguardable duo. Love can play outside or inside and make entry passes. Reminds me of having Camby dump it into LA. Pek is one of the most physically dominant players in the league. I haven’t seen a guy like that since Shaq… maybe Bynum used to be there. If they had good role playing teammates that team could have potential. Rubio was great as a reserve but is really struggling as a full time PG. Martin is a one dimensional shooter. Is Corey Brewer their third best player?

If we traded Love for Aldridge I’m not sure our team would be worse… it just might be better. I’m happy with LA but Love is right there with any big man in the game.

They're all defensive boards. He did the same thing against us. 16 defensive rebounds, only 3 offensive boards. He doesn't create second chance points for his team.

How is a defensive rebound less valuable than an offensive rebound? Either one prevents the other team from getting the ball and gives your team a scoring opportunity. At the end of the game first chance points count the same as second chance points. This is one of the dumbest posts I’ve ever seen.

Big difference between Garnett and Love. Garnett was actually a really good defender. Love is a terrible defender. I was never one that said that Garnett could never win a ring. In fact, I always said he just needed a team around him.

There is only one PF that I remembered that didn't play good defense and won a ring. His name is Dirk, but Dirk has that money post move. He can score posting up from the block or elbows.

Love doesn't have a post game. I don't know where you are getting this information from?

Why do we track second chance points? Offensive rebounds are significantly harder to get because you're righting with sometimes two or three other people to grab them. Many of Love's rebounds are uncontested defensive boards. It's nice that he grabs them, but as has been pointed out, he sacrifices defense so that he can get rebounding position to pad his stats.

Of the 19 boards he had, only three were offensive rebounds... you don't think that's strange?

103 of Love's 374 rebounds are offensive ones (27.5%). His ORB% is 10.3% (the lowest of his career--he averages 13.2% for his career).

I didn't say that was the reason why I would take Aldridge over Love. Fez said that his numbers were insane and I said that I don't think defensive rebounding is as difficult as offensive rebounding.

Of course Love and Aldridge grab offensive boards at a poor rate. They're camped out on the perimeter on offense. They have that in common. I never said to discount defensive rebounds, I Just feel like the gaudy numbers aren't quite so impressive when it can be argued that Love sacrifices defense so he can focus on getting the rebound.

For the record, I've rather have Aldridge because he plays some defense and because I think his offense is better suited for the playoffs.

What do the five best offensive rebounding teams in the league have in common? They are all below average defensively. Both us and the TWolves are in that group. The TWolves have a long list of problems right now, and as they are the 4th best offensive rebounding team in the league I’d say Love’s lack of offensive rebounding is at the very bottom of that list.

Well, in that case, Love's numbers don't mean as much because they're uncontested. Most of his boards against the Blazers were free and clear because we had already gotten back on defense to prevent the fast break. I saw this multiple times. We weren't even trying to get offensive boards in that game.
