The big issue with Minnesota isn't talent, it's health. There are a lot of very breakable players on that roster. Kevin Martin actually stayed healthy last year, so maybe he has turned a corner?

I think it's 1a. Health 1b. Depth

Who is their go to bench man? Shved? Barea?

So far they remind me of our squad last year. Come out hot then fizzle with the starters playing so many minutes.

As much as you guys probably hate me saying this, but Kevin Love is the best PF in the game....

Uhh... It's true.

I hate it more when people try to pass off LMA as the best PF in the game... so. At least Mags says top 3.. I can handle that!

LaMarcus is definitely one of the better PF's in the game. I'll take that.

Their depth is actually a big reason they could be a threat. They lost Turiaf who gave them a solid big and Budinger (their biggest scoring threat off the bench).

They still have:

Barea
Shved
Williams
Cunningham
Dieng

I wasn't the biggest fan of Barea in year's past, but he will be important this year. He can provide scoring in an instance (followed by the worst basketball plays you will ever see).

Forgot about Budinger, still I see mostly hustle guys. Not much scoring threat IMO. Do you think Williams will last much longer in Minny?

Second best. I think it is:

Love
small gap
Aldridge
small gap
Dirk

I'm not sure who is 3rd, but I think your rankings are fairly accurate.

er..I mean, YOUR A WOLVES FAN. U R THE GHEY.

Actually, who else is a PF that is good in this league? There aren't a real plethora of them anymore. A crop of good young ones, but no real stars (like it was in the 80's and 90s)

He has shown some signs this year. Played pretty good defense on Melo tonight. He has lost weight and looks much quicker. If he would attack the basket with more force, he could be a very solid role player. He has a spot, not sure if it is with this team once Budinger comes back.

Not it is a pretty dry position, which is why it is so great for the Wolves and Blazers to have the top 2.

I think after Dirk:
Bosh
Randolph
Griffin

then.... David Lee? I don't count Duncan as a PF.

I always thought Williams for Evan Turner would be mutually beneficial.

IF and when budinger comes back, thats 10 points and 35% on 3s right there, and rest for Martin.

Exactly. And a slasher. He is a big piece.

Also, when did Brewer become not awful at basketball? Night and day difference between his first stint with the Wolves and now.

wait, what happened to Lunch meat (come on..Budinger, Carl Buddig lunch meat..COME ON, I can't be the only one who thinks that when I see his name!? FUCK YOU ALL!)?

Someone needs to tell Love to stop jacking threes.

He shot 10-19 for the game, but 2-8 from downtown. If he would have taken half as many threes, he would have shot a much more impressive 10-15.

Also, 15 FTA? I wish we had a player that was handed free points like that.

I wish he wouldn't do it as much when Pek isn't in the game. But when he is, you still have a very good offensive rebounder under the basket (even if they are mostly longer rebounds).

He was open on most of the attempts.

Dude, he was 2-8... there's a reason why he's open. I know some people want Aldridge to start shooting threes and I hate it. It drove me nuts when Sheed would jack up threes all game. They play power forward. Get the fuck under the hoop.

Well, the Wolves looked good tonight. I look forward to our first crack at them.

<----------- not one of those people.

Love was fouled on at least one other three point attempt and made 2. So out of 9 actual three point attempts, he scored 8 points. That's not horrible.

Thinking more about it, I think he got fouled on two threes. That's how he got so many FTs. Doing what you said not to do. Plus he shot a few techs

You aren't helping his case man. If you counted the foul as a shot made, and a shot attempted, that puts him at 3-9. Do you really want your power forward jacking up 9 threes?

Its not like SF where the top 2 are so clearly above the rest and among the best in the league though. Love isn't that much better than LMA. And LMA isn't much better than Griffin, Bosh, Randolph, Lee. And then even after them you've still got Dirk, Millsap, Josh Smith, Anthony Davis, Ibaka, Monroe, Tristan Thompson, David West. Dwight Howard, KG and Pau are starting PFs this season. LeBron and Melo play big minutes at PF. Having the 2nd best PF in the league right now isn't that important because the elite PFs aren't in the elite of the entire NBA, plus even the 5-15th ranked PFs aren't far behind the top 5 and can definitely win a matchup with one of the top guys on a given night.

Its just one road game. Excluding last season, when he played just 18 games, his last two seasons he shot 37% and 42% from 3. Through two games this season he was 6/13.

I never question his willingness to be physical inside. His offensive game requires him to play outside to be the threat the Minny needs him to be. I like his aggressiveness given his role on the T'Wolves.

It's not just that he's shooting threes, but that he shot 8 of them. That's a lot even for a guard.

The wolves once had a coach that told him to not shoot threes, that mans name is randy wittman. Don't be like randy whitman.

There's a difference between "not shooting threes" and "go head and bomb away."
