Re: The 2013-14 Around The NBA Thread......

http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-t...-garnett-trade-means-for-the-nets-and-celtics

As ESPN.com’s Tom Haberstroh noted yesterday, this trade gives the Celtics two first-round picks in four of the five next drafts, including Brooklyn’s unprotected first-round picks in 2016 and 2018. Ainge’s hope here has to be that by then, Brooklyn’s aged and run-down roster has the Nets high in the lottery, and those two picks end up being major pieces for Boston somewhere down the line. Overall, it could be a very nice haul, considering the short list Ainge probably had to deal with because of Garnett’s no-trade clause. Having to take Wallace’s contract — a disastrous three more years at $30 million — is a major loss, but if Boston wanted to completely bottom out, it’s gotten there.

Spurs and Blazers with 9 game winning streaks (Miami next with 5). Only 2 teams in the NBA with 6 road wins, SA and Port.

Andre Iguodala pulled hamstring. Looks highly likely to miss tomorrow' game.

Warriors may be out their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string PGs tomorrow.

On normal occasions, I would give my condolences. I hope you're not mad at me!

Rose fears he tore his other (right) ACLU, per WGN.

Wow, fucking crazy, if it happens....

If you're Chicago do you start to consider rebuilding?

IF it's his ACL it's going to be career altering.

I hope Rose gets better, but it does not look good.

With that said, I like seeing people not trolling them about it. We had our own shit, so it's better to empathize.

Brooklyn is beyond horrible, and I don't even see how they can fix it. I guess they could move Pierce. Johnson is way overpaid. Deron is probably tradeable. What a complete joke that team is.

Perfect time to poach Brook Lopez.

Sam Amick @sam_amick
Grizzlies center Marc Gasol, I'm told, has a Grade 2 MCL sprain. No surgery required. Out indefiniitely.

He's the one guy they probably wouldn't fire sale.

Here is a description of the 15 million per season Brook:

Big body... Very nice skills around the basket... A go-to guy in the post... Effective offensive player... A little bit mechanical... Doesn't pass the ball very well... Must improve rebounding and overall toughness.

Here is the description of the 5 million per season Robin:
Has the size and mobility that you're looking for in an NBA center... Runs the floor pretty well... Plays physical... Raw and mechanical offensively.

For the Blazer's needs I prefer someone like Robin. And for 15 million a year I prefer someone like Hibbert.

I feel bad Rose. Stuff happens. Get fixed up, and ignore the bs. And, if Chicago fans weren't so obnoxious, I'd definitely empathize with them (oden/roy...).

The Bulls fans sitting by us at the game were very polite. They were always cheering for the positives their team did, not booing or anything negative when we messed up.

So the Nets have their 2014 first rounder?

Atlanta currently gets the better 2014 pick of Brooklyn or their own. Boston gets the worse pick of Brooklyn or Atlanta

2015 Atlanta can swap picks with Brooklyn.
2016 Boston gets Brooklyn's pick.
2017 Boston can swap picks with Brooklyn
2018 Boston gets Brooklyn's pick

There are no lottery protections on any of these picks, even if they are the #1 overall pick for Andrew Wiggins. If the Nets had the worst record in the league the next five years Atlanta would get two top4 picks and Boston would get three top4 picks.

Wow they really did go "all in"! Ouch

I hope Chicago does and trades Rose to us!

Obviously its a huge disappointment if torn. But its a very common injury. Football players tear ACL's all the time. Sometimes they tear the same one two or three years in a row. Players can make a complete recovery. The main thing is having no damage to the rest of the knee. If a player has problems with meniscus or cartridge, which can happen at the time of an ACL tear, that is when recovery is less likely.

I think he's talking more about trading players like Noah, deng and boozer

Can you put their stats up side by side. Wonder of Brook is 3Xs the player?
