Maybe but there are teams that could use a starter/backup. San Antonio, LAC, Boston, Warriors, Dallas for example. All Portland can offer is a backup role for a couple months and then third string.
Warriors have Cauley-Stein / Looney
Celtics have Kanter / Thies / Poirier
Dallas has Powell / Kleber (Kleber could be the 4 I guess)
Spurs have Aldridge / Poeltl (Gay and Bertans play a ton of PF)
Clippers will have Harrell / Zubac (assuming they retain him)

Honestly, Portland looks like the best role for him off the bat.

That would never happen. Are you nuts? What if Dwight went and told Hassan that?
Well, whether or not we moved Whiteside is probably dependent upon what Whiteside wants. I don't think Whiteside will be thrilled to be a backup behind Nurk, so you gotta communicate with Whiteside too.

Which means he will pick the Suns because the nba makes no sense lol

And Portland has Whiteside/Collins and eventually Nurkic. That’s deeper than any of those teams.

I think money is what it's about. Yeah it would be nice to play in his hometown, but I doubt he wants to play with broken ass Lebron and Davis on a team where he us not #1.

Toronto are the defending champs. They can come back with the same team. They can pay him the most. Why go to the Fakers?
Saw today that with Canada's taxes, he can actually make 11M more with LA. I'm no capologist, anybody know if this is true?

Collins is a PF. I was only talking about Cs.

Key Phrase - "Evantually Nurkic".

Dwight isnt in a position to pick and choose all that much either.

I think I heard there is some tax thing about being a Canadian citizen for over 180 days up there that lessens the burden?

You think Broussard, whos a Laker mouthoiece, is reporting honestly or knows Canadian taxes?

California is very highly taxed, and he'd make more money due to 8% raises in Canada, so I'm pretty sure thats false.

Collins is a center that may play PF.

Didn't really think much about the credibility of the tweet, been working all day. Just sharing something I thought I read earlier.

I read that too, Im sure he’s got real accountants who are crunching the numbers. Having lived in Canada for a while the taxes are pretty crazy, but from all I know their pretty crazy in Cali too.

USA top income tax rate is 37%
Canada 33%
CA. 13.3% highest in USA
No idea about Canadian local and province taxes

California is 13.3% income tax IIRC, put that on top of Uncle Sam, and cost of living in SoCal...

I go to SoCal for work once in a while, besides the weather, I pretty much hate being down there, but never lived there so the high taxes dont really effect me.

He might be right but it's hard to trust that guy.

Oh? So who's our starting PF next year?

Good question. But if stotts didn’t like Collins next to Nurk (0 minutes shared this season) I don’t see why he would like him next to Whiteside. The only time he played the four last year was with Meyers, who spaces the floor.

Collins did play with Kanter some.

I'll be shocked if Collins doesn't start at the 4. His rookie year he played next to Ed off the bench. I expect Collins 3pt shot to improve to 35-36% or so which will help him play the 4 better.

I imagine Nurk has been working on a 3 point shot while rehabbing.

There is a Forbes article that backs up HCPs claim.

I do not know how to link it from my cell phone. The title is:

"11.4 million reasons KL will not sign with Toronto."

Not sure I completly understand the reasons stated in the article.

Thats a good point. Its odd I dont see Zach as a Center, I just dont. Maybe for small ball, but he doesnt rebound well and he tends to get pushed around by starting centers. Maybe Stotts see’s him as a Center.
