Wilt predominately played against guys almost a footer shorter then he was. Even his biggest adversary (Russell) was only 6 foot 9 while Wilt was 7 foot 2.

not his fault he was bigger and better than everyone, and there were plenty of players over 6'9" in the nba throughout his career...the year he averaged 50/25 walt bellamy was the ROY at 6'11"

dude lead the league in assists at 31 years old while averaging 24/24

its subjective, but to me wilt was the greatest to ever play

Wilt is so impressive physically he would still dominate today.

To put it another way, he was bigger and stronger than Greg Oden. With the Lakers he was 7-1 300+lbs of muscle, and he was always a great athlete.

There isn't anyone fucking with him in today's game.

Noah 6-11 232
B.Lopez 7-0 260
Chandler 7-1 240
Jordan 6-11 265
Hibbert 7-2 280

Wilt is still bigger

espn

No Kobe Bryant for Lakers tonight, but Dwight Howard enters averaging 21.5 PPG, 15.5 RPG in last 6 games (Lakers 5-1 in those 6)

What a wimp. What happened to "There's no time for injuries" ?

This is what I was talking about Speed...... the guy is one of the toughest players to ever play and you make this little crack on him. He has a history of playing thru injuries his whole career.

If you're not making "little cracks" on the Lakers you're not a real Blazer fan.

sorry. this no time to miss games. playoff seed on the line. he's letting his teammates down. not to mention he wouldn't have gotten hurt if he didn't take that wild off the mark shot at the end of the atlanta game. he has no sense of what he can and cannot do

His defense held him back somewhat imo, he could have been better but whatever.

Kobe is still a hypocrite, agreed on that.

@johnschuhmann: Random: The NBA has now played more games than it did last season.

@nbastats: .@okcthunder's @russwest44 had 14pts in the 1stQ today. Since All-Star break, he's avg. @NBA-best 10.9pts in the 1st period

@ESPNStatsInfo: The Lakers are now 11-3 since their 25-29 start

On this date 5 yrs ago, Houston's streak of 22 straight W's ended w/ a 20pt loss to @Celtics.

After which Brooks takes him out and shouts at him: "okay now PASS THE FUCKING BALL TO SOMEONE ELSE!"

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Andrew Bynum will undergo season-ending surgery on both knees, source tells Y! Sports.

That really sucks. I remember when there were Laker fans like DaRizzle on this board, and we would all talk about who will be the better big ... Oden or Bynum. Now they are both likely done in terms of being dominant NBA posts.

I think at this point it would be a surprise if either one started more than 50 games in a season again.

And now the Heat's 22-game streak is in jeopardy, as they trail the Celtics by 14 points in the 2nd quarter.

Here's to history repeating itself.
