THE "OFFICIAL" AROUND THE NBA 2012-13 THREAD...........

Welcome to our community

Hey, hey now! Let's not act like the NBA is like the MLB!

I watched the Tigers/Yankees game today, and as much as I hate baseball and how out of shape most of their players are, the Tigers put it into an entirely new perspective for me. Watching the game was like watching the "before" part of a Weight Watchers commercial.

Interseting thing is, Diaw is a damn good player. When he was in PHX, he actually played all five positions. Still a quality player in spite of eating half his family!

The needle on my humorometer went off the scale. There is something fishy here. The cake...the food on the tables...Paul's arms...his neck looks like it was lifted from a picture of Joe Frazier...or just put onto a widescreen monitor...

Haha, I hear ya! Diaw proved this year with the Spurs that he's a legitimate player that's here to stay.

I'm just getting frustrated this time of year because I can smell the NBA. I can hear it. I can taste it, yet we still have baseball on TV.

I just want to push the fast-forward button on life to when the MLB is over and the NBA starts.

Somehow Drummond has a motor now.

Also, Machado looks legit. Had we kept the #41 pick (IIRC) we could have had our backup PG.

D12 makes his Laker debut Sunday........

Dwight Howard expects to make his first preseason appearance with the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday against the Kings, according to multiple sources.

"He is making progress," one Lakers source told Yahoo! Sports. "There is a good chance he can play Sunday."

Howard had surgery in April to repair a herniated disk.

The Lakers want Howard to play two of their three remaining preseason games, but are hesitant to have him play on consecutive days.

I agree with you HCP, the 90 second rule is stupid. How is is additional 2-3 minutes really going to delay a game?

Now STAT!

Amare Stoudemire will be out two to three weeks with a ruptured popliteal cyst behind his left knee, the New York Knicks announced after Sunday afternoon's practice at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y.

Stoudemire returned to New York City on Sunday morning to get a re-evaluation of his knee, where he suffered a bone bruise Oct. 10 during practice. An MRI then revealed the latest injury.

The left knee is the same one he had microfracture surgery on in October 2005, when he was a member of the Phoenix Suns. While he missed basically the entire 2005-06 campaign, he came back stronger as ever in the following seasons.

Stoudemire is no stranger to injuries. He's had chronic knee problems, a partially detached retina in his right eye and lower back issues, which started in the 2011 NBA playoffs and continued toward the end of last season.

Stoudemire was said to be in top shape coming into the season, hardly missing a routine of two-a-days during the summer. Also, coach Mike Woodson has raved about Stoudemire's conditioning level in training camp.

Now, the Knicks again will be without their starting power forward during a key stretch -- this time starting Nov. 1 to tip off the season, which includes matchups against the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers (twice).

The Knicks first face the Sixers on Monday night at the Carrier Dome, where Carmelo Anthony led the Orange to the 2003 NCAA championship.

Armon Johnson cut by the magic this morning!

Nolan Smith is freaking out right now....

Doesn't matter, he's going to lose his job to Coby Karl, not Armon Johnson.

Damn, I thought Lamar married the fat Kardashian. Now he is the fat Kardashian.

Unless Chris Paul has also gotten plump since the Olympics, I'm guessing the ratio on that pic has been distorted.

Noticed that the Bobcats aren't starting Kidd-Gilchrist. Starting some guy named Jeffrey Taylor ahead of him? What the fuck...... are they actually trying to ease him in to the league?

Halfway thru the 2nd quarter and MKG looks lost out there! Have no idea what he has done this preseason, but he looks horrible.

MKG has zero offensive game. This really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that paid attention during the draft discussions

Jeffery Taylor is good! He's sort of a James Posey type - good defender and shooter but can't dribble.

It's odd about MKG, though. Is he the bizarro Andre Drummond? One looks great in Summer League, lost in preseason and the other is the reverse?

He looked like a lost HS kid out there. In an uptempo frenzied type game I'm sure he's going to be great. But a normal half court situation, it's like he didn't even know where to go or what to do when he got the ball. His J is BROKE as well! Him and Waiters have not impressed the HCP!

Bynum out for awhile......
Andrew Bynum continues to sit out training camp, putting off his debut with the Philadelphia 76ers in practice.

The 76ers will hold out Bynum until his knee is pain-free.

The team will hold five practices before their regular season opener against the Nuggets.

“It’s just a healing process,” Tony DiLeo said. “When it heals, it heals.”

DiLeo admitted the Sixers are being somewhat cautious with Bynum prior to the start of the 82-game regular season.

“I would play with pain,” Bynum said. “If it were up to me, I would play.”

Doug Collins declined to speculate when Bynum will be ready.

“I have no idea,” Collins said. “It’s all hypothetical. We’re not going to look over at (Bynum as) a lifeline. If this team feels like we can’t win without him, we won’t win.”

I miss his aggressive style of play! He brought it!

Mavericks suspend guard Delonte West indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team.
