THE "OFFICIAL" AROUND THE NBA 2012-13 THREAD...........

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Maybe cuz they signed SHEEEEEED! To answer your question, I only really care about our game tonight. We're in the driver's seat. If we win the rest of our games, we win the #1 seed and home court throughout the playoffs.

I like the cut of your jib.

Freeman......

Lillard is tied for 5th in NBA in assists (9.0 pg), Hickson is 8th in rebounding (11.3 pg) and Aldridge 12th in scoring (22.7 pg).

To be fair Nate, the old dream was a championship with LMA , Oden , Roy

The dream is always to win a championship. Doesn't matter what players you have, what team you're on, or what city you play in.

Yeah, maybe we should offer Pek the max... he's got 15 points in 10 minutes so far against Brooklyn.

Marc Gasol pretty much had a perfect game tonight. He had 22 pts, 8 rbs, 8 asts, 3 blks, 0 turnovers, 6-11 FG, 10-10 FT in 36 minutes.

That almost looks like a perfect game, except for one thing - only 8 rebounds. Although, the other thing is, Z-Bo had 18 rbs.

While you might question why Marc Gasol is only averaging 7 rpg on the season, his frontcourt partner is averaging 16 rpg, and I think that explains for the less than impressive rebounding numbers. The thing is, Marc's been the whole team for most of those three games, and the rebounding numbers are just a result of the circumstance of playing with Z-Bo.

Otherwise, I don't see too many centers in the league playing better than Gasol has played early on.

Also, on that note, have there ever been two players, in a full season, to average 10+ rpg on the same team?

I checked ESPN's stats that only go back to the '99 season, and the only record I could find was last season in Utah (Millsap and Jefferson), but that wasn't during a full season.

I'm sure there have been some players, probably on the Celtics, Lakers, 76'ers, or Knicks, to have done that in the past. I'm just wondering how rare it is, especially in the present era of basketball.

jugg soupler with 28 10-17

maybe not so much of a reach after all

Doesn't surprise me. He seems the consummate on-off guy. I wouldn't be shocked by a 40pt game here or there---especially on a team like CLE-- but I also won't be shocked when he pulls a couple of 1-14 games in a row.

The worst thing that can happen to this Thunder season is something that’s reared its head in every single game thus far. That’s egos creeping in and causing players to believe they’re better than. Tonight, much like the first two nights of the 2012-13 season, there was a ton of barking among Thunder players. At the end of the first quarter, Thabo Sefolosha and Russell Westbrook had to be separated from exchanging words as they walked to the bench. It was a show of anger that surprisingly was also seen from the same two as they walked off the court at halftime Friday night. Later, Durant chewed out Serge Ibaka for failing to grab a rebound. And of course there was the usual head-shaking between Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins whenever the paint went left unprotected. The problem is everyone has an opinion and everyone is sharing it. It can’t be that way. There should be two voices on the court. Durant’s. And Westbrook’s. Everyone else needs to fall in line. What’s happening now is that everyone is acting like they know best, almost like they’re the reason for the team’s success, like their poop doesn’t stink and the man’s next to them does. And you can’t help but wonder how much of the attitude has to do with last year’s success and whether it will soon subside or only fester and grow fangs.

Finally, there's some doubt in OKC. I've been waiting for them to crumble for a while now.

I read that article about OKC the other day ... it warmed my cold, black heart.

Great comeback by the Wolves last night! Down 22 and come back to win easily!

Durant just keeps getting better.......

ELIAS: Durant 1st 3 GMS: 20+ PTS, 12+ REB, 5+ AST. Only player in NBA history to reach those levels in 1st 4 GMS is Kevin Garnett in 2007-08

ESPNStats......

Need more evidence the D'Antoni era is over in NY? #Knicks are playing at the SLOWEST pace in the league so far.

Durant just keeps getting better.......

Don't forget: 5.33 TO/game! He leads the league in one thing, at least.
(He's also tied for the league lead at 42 mpg. Might explain the bumps in his other numbers. Will also explain when he breaks down completely at some point in the season.)

Here's some trivia to impress your friends at the bar... Most points scored on Presidential Election Day is 43 by Pistol Pete in 1976.

Hornets and Wizards are only teams that havent scored or allowed 100 points in a game this season
