Damn, now Drummond out 4-6 weeks!

I think I started a curse.... Any big man that I add to my fantasy basketball team will become injured. Drummond was my replacement for Varejoa. Um.... Derrick Favors....you are next. Sorry buddy.

Grizz stalled their "free-fall" tonight, grinding out a win against the Warriors. If they had lost, the two teams would have flip-flopped in the standings.

Call me crazy, but I still think this team is in position to compete. Marc and Z-Bo have both been slumping, but when Marc plays aggressive like he did tonight (20/11/5 and a lot of crucial hustle plays), we're still hard to beat. Talk around the town is that they're shopping their trade exception around for another wing scorer as well.

It's Big Val. He had a good game. That was the final possession of OT.

Looks like a spaz doing it, tho.

How do you feel about Rudy Gay going 17-49 in the last two games?

I know he hit the game winner, but knowing Gay, they probably wouldn't have even been in such a tight game if he weren't just jacking so many stupid shots.

That was always the thing about Gay. He'd lead the team in scoring, and he'd get the Sportcenter highlight dunk, so most people outside of Memphis would ignore the fact that he took 20+ shots at a .30-40 clip.

Doesn't matter. Someone has to take the shots. DeRozan has been hurling bricks as well.

The Raps are 14 games under .500. As long as Ross, Valanciunas, and Lowry are getting decent playing time the efficiency of the starters or even the score at the end of the game really doesn't make much of a difference.

James Harden (35 pts, 11 assists) 2nd game this season with 35 points, 10 assists. Rest of NBA has 1 such game

Gasol was stellar last night. Absolutely looks like the best C in the league when he plays like that.

The Grizz are still very good. Swapping Gay with Prince isn't a major downgrade. Better defense and more shots for your other more efficient players. Speights was a really nice backup big, but you're still rolling with Arthur and Ed Davis off the bench. That's quite solid. That starting frontline is a fugging load. Can they compete for championships? I'm pretty suspect. There's a lot of teams right there with them in the west, and I just can't see them competing with the Thunder, who are ultimately who you have to beat to get into the finals.

Greivis Vasquez (21, 11 & 12 @ ATL last night) is the 19th different player to record a triple-double this season.

If I am a OKC fan I am pissed. Maybe they thought Hardin and Westbrook together did not work. I don't know but I am glad the three are not together. i think it was a huge mistake. A big market team like the Lakers or Knicks would never have made that trade.

Among those w/ triple-doubles in 2010-11: Stephen Jackson, JaVale McGee, Chuck Hayes & Drew Gooden.

That kid Harden is a star on the rise!

I said it last year and everybody thought I was crazy, but....

Harden > Westbrook.

All day, every day, any damn day.

Westbrook is a pillow cryer.

Looking back on it they would be better off seeing what they could get for Westbrook and then just keep Harden. You can win (some would say easier) with a distributing PG instead of a predominately scoring PG. I will give Westbrook a little bit of props though. He is passing more this year.

People complain daily about drafting Nolan Smith over Faried, but let's not forget that Eliot Williams was drafted 6 spots in front of Vasquez, who was a proven player at Maryland and has decent size. How could a 6'6" SG who has some handles drop to #28 in any draft? I sometimes wonder why so much money is spent on scouting, because no matter the method there are busts high in the draft every year, and there are very good players that go late first or in the second.

Vasquez has a PER of 16.7 this year, and had a solid 14.1 last year. Plus, he can run the point at times.

He's a full time point, just happens to be a few inches taller than most.

OKC may still be the #1 seed in the West, and Harden crapped his pants in the NBA Finals last year.

Westbrook still has a PER of 23 this year. I don't think it was such an obvious move to keep Harden over Westbrook. Harden needs the ball a lot, too. I'd keep the proven PG over a bench SG who wilted under the pressure of the NBA Finals.

i was just thinking about him the other day, he went for like 20/6/5 with a steal or two in the acc, as the unquestioned leader of that team

then again nolan smith was acc player of the year :dunno:

Nolan Smith is at least showing a few NBA skills and has passed Price in the rotation, and that is being a small player.

Vasquez has legitimate NBA size. I'm not saying Vasquez will be a star, but he's the type of do-it-all player who could be a 6th-Man of the Year candidate on a winning team.

I saw Vasquez 2x in Spokane during the 2010 NCAA tournament.

Vasquez was so upset after this loss. I just remember watching him walk off the court in a daze. I was sitting about 15 rows up on the baseline on the side that Maryland was shooting toward at the end of the game.
