After picking up 5 steals tonight against Atlanta, Dwyane Wade now has more steals (54) in the 20 games since the start of February than he had in his first 38 games (53).

Two of the all-time greats are coming into their primes right now, together, yet most of the attention is going to LeBron rather than Dwyane.

I wonder if Wade will be remembered as LeBron's "Pippen," or if he'll go down as something more than that.

With that said, playing in the East makes these feats a little easier. Check out their upcoming schedule -

Philadelphia
Milwaukee
Toronto
Boston
Cleveland
Detroit
Charlotte
Orlando
Chicago
New Orleans

The only team in that bunch that'd be a Western Conference playoff team is Chicago, and they're really not even that threatening. Until they play San Antonio, Miami would just have to lose their focus to drop a game.

I think Wade's prime has passed. He's still damn good, top 10 player. But, prime was a couple years ago.

Regardless of where he is in his career though, I see him as a far cry from Pippen (in a positive way, as in that he's a lot better), and I'm not sure if there's a secondary player of his caliber that would ever want to be remembered for being a secondary player.

You think Wade is "a lot better" than Pippen in his prime? No way.

Definitely. I grew up in the 90's watching Pippen, but Wade's on a whole nother level.

Wade won a title, leading the helm, without LeBron, whereas the Bulls were mediocre for two years with Pippen leading the helm.

I've got to admit, I'm pretty up there in terms of BAC right now, with my birthday being tomorrow/today and leaving to NOLA tomorrow to celebrate, but in a more sober state, I'd still definitely debate Wade vs. Pippen in favor of Wade any time.

I grew up during the Jordan/Pippen era. I'm well aware of how good Pippen was, but he doesn't hold a flame to Wade.

Mediocre two years? They made it to the ECF.... O.o

Maybe Wade was a superior scorer to Pippen, but come on.... Pippen was 10x the defender and playmaker that Wade is/was.

10x the defender? That's as big of an exaggeration as me calling Pippen's two Jordanless years "mediocre."

This whole conversation began based on Wade's ridiculous steals streak. Hell, I saw him in college, in St. Louis, against Tulsa, and even back then he posted a near triple double. You can't tell me Dwyane Wade's not a "playmaker."

I just looked at Wade's stats... man... I never realized how consistently good he's been. His career averages are nuts.

24 ppg, 6.1 assists, 5.1 boards, and 1.8 steals over a 10 year career. That's nuts.

I still think it's unfair to say that Pippen couldn't even hold a candle to him. Pippen's scoring was significantly less, so in that regard Wade was vastly superior, but I still think in terms of overall play Pippen was right there.

I mean, in Pippen's best years, he was averaging around 22 ppg, 8 boards, 6 assists, and 3 steals per game. Wade has never gotten that close in steals or boards. I'm sure some of the stat guys will also come in here and post advanced stats.

Pippen was better than Wade, simply because Pippen was one of the best defenders of all time. Wade is decent but a bit of a gambler. Plus Wade relies an awful lot on gimmes from the refs. He's a worse diver than Ginobili.

nbastats

Post All-Star, @MNTimberwolves PG @rickyrubio9 is averaging 12.5pts, 3.3stls (1st), 9.1asts (5th), 6.7rebs (3rd among guards)

nba

Following their win Tuesday over Boston, the Bobcats since the start of February are 2-0 vs the Celtics and 1-16 vs everyone else

Surreal scene in Atlanta, where Kobe Bryant's scoring binge in third period has fans on feet and going wild for him. Hard to be a Hawk.

is there video of this?

can't really tell in that video/gif.

The video I saw doesn't show a clear shot either.

It kind of looks like a TOP sprain, not a side to side sprain.

anyone know anything about sprains and severity?

Horace Grant has better advanced stats than Pippen.

It isn't just about Wade and Scot.

What a baby. Jones has done that before, but not on this play.

I don't wish injury on anyone, I'm a decent guy. But yeah the line going around now is that someone should tell Kobe, "the Lakers don't have time for his injury". Heh.

Man the guy has said some stupid shit this season, he's annoying.

I saw it on ESPN.

Their footage was better. Btw, does anyone find it ironic that Bruce Bowen is saying you shouldn't walk under someone when they're shooting?

Dude made a career out of doing that.
