yeah no kidding.. maybe its because there arent a ton of storylines? orrr...this place is just getting quiet

Don't overlook how big a factor the fan questions we're in garnering interest. This media day sucked compared to years past when we got to see the players personalities instead the boring media questions

A 30 page blazer training camp thread? I'll take that bet. :)

Anyways, kind of a quite off season. Unless many are chomping on the bit to hear how Kaman and Blake look, most are know what this team is about and are ready for the season to start.

Sidenote: New NBA Blazer gear just hit the Adidas store for those who want to get stock up for the upcoming season. If you need a pass, PM me, limit first 3.

Is it me, or does it not seem to be much interest about training around here this year? What's up with that?

I am just as interested as last year (if not more so). There just hasn't been a whole lot reported about the team this year.

Last year, we at least got the "_(insert player name)_ has added 15-lbs of mussel and is looking MUCH better. He is going to challenge (insert starter's name here) for playing time" rhetoric.

Looks like some 3D Crest whitening strips for his teeth might do him some good.

He's still got his Super Bowl afterglow going on!

This article today about Kaman is kind of interesting. Not sure if it was posted already. I thought it was a great read.

Thanks for posting that. I enjoyed the read. Some around here know I didn't like the Kaman acquisition. The truth is he has been injury prone and a pain in the ass to the last three organizations he played with. One team told him to stay home while paying him millions. We will see if he has indeed changed, but I like that he has finally swallowed a meal of humble pie. maybe he will fit in . . .

In his last three NBA seasons, Chris Kaman has been – in his words – bitter, frustrated and misunderstood.

And while injuries have played a part in limiting his action, a larger part of his decline has been because he has either clashed or fallen out of favor with three different coaches.

So why, then, should the Trail Blazers be excited to have this guy around?

Why should we believe it will suddenly work out in Portland?

"You don't have to,'' Kaman said matter-of-factly. "That's part of the deal. Some people are skeptical. Some are excited.''

I was firmly in the skeptical camp, even though I have always liked Kaman's offensive game, and found his humorous and quirky personality to be endearing.

My apprehension stemmed from his past. He said he didn't like the controlling nature of Monty Williams in New Orleans. He said Dallas coach Rick Carlisle was smart, but "tough to deal with"; and in Los Angeles last season, he said he liked the laid-back style of Mike D'Antoni, but he didn't like his philosophy of not playing two big men at the same time.

What's next in Portland? Terry Stotts is too nice?

Today, my skepticism has evolved into hope. At Monday's media day, Kaman proclaimed himself changed.

"My ego,'' he said, "is gone.''

I thought this part was humorous: (And honest)

"Terry seems real even-keeled, level headed,'' Kaman said. "He jokes a little bit, is serious a little bit. I like him so far. But it always starts off that you like a guy, but by the end of the year you can end up hating him. You just never know. Hopefully, I don't hate Terry.''

Wes left because of illness?

I'll just wait till the regular season, when it matters.

I honestly think CJ will be our back-up PG when he's ready. The defense concentration is soooo nice to read.

I will believe CJ can play PG when I see any evidence of it. So far, Will is 20x better at PG. Time will tell if CJ can develop those instincts--and it's hard to imagine Stotts giving him minutes there of Blake is healthy. CJ could end up the better SG backup, but Will will get minutes at the 1 and 3 I would guess.

Bro he was injured for almost half the season. He was a rookie as well, so those types of players need to have minutes to find themselves. Are you writing CJ off already for half a rookie season?! Really?!

Hurt in college. Hurt as a rookie. He is Eliot Williams until he proves otherwise.
