I'm thinking about the record my teams have in championship games, when I've followed them. The Blazers are 0-3 (if you count the 2000 Lakers WCF), the 49ers are 1-4 (if you count the losses to Dallas), and the Ducks are 0-1.

So I'm 1-8 in my lifetime, and could be going 1-9. Shouldn't I at least be able to be around .500!

When it comes to the NBA, I know not to get my hopes up.

Football is different though, anyone can win... It hurts more when you get so close.
 
Sport is a relationship... but I realized early on that every relationship you ever have ends in failure, except for the last one, which ends in your death.

I just can't stand to see us beat ourselves. The Bucks are playing good, but not great. We're simply not converting.
 
The problem with college athletes nowadays is, they have short hair. This is why they're lazy. In my day you drove 12 miles to the barber. Actually, your father drove you, yelling at you the whole way.

You're obviously too young to have remembered the last Blazer championship..it's a great feeling

You are correct for sure. NFL and college has more parody as to who wins and small market teams stand a great chance. Small markets teams in the NBA, as we all know, die. Blazers are my first love though of any team i cheer for I want them to win at least one in my lifetime and I just don't know with the shitty refs and dumb rules when it comes to reviews.

That I am. I was born in 89 so I was long an afterthought lol. Wish I could have been alive then I would have enjoyed it so much!

in my day it was crew cuts and butch wax...we had no say in letting the hair grow out..father's ruled with iron fists! When men were men and we boys were really nervous
 
Ducks trick plays are to 'cutsie' for this defense. Not to mention the weed smokin dude totally hurting their offense right now.

In the NFL, every regular season game is very important, but in the NBA the regular season is kind of silly. The Blazers are trying to win all these games....but what will it matter in the playoffs? OKC or SA could be the 8th and 7th seed.

Indeed. I was 12 when 1989-90 came along... my most indelible childhood memory was getting slaughtered by Detroit.
 
This thread reminds me a lot of the posts you read after the first qtr of many a Blazer game, then in the end, they're all gushing with praise.
 
There's a lot of game left here and the Ducks can score in bunches...at halftime it comes down to coaching and adjustment. Go Ducks!
