Don't see Clippers going for this deal. KG said he is retiring at the end of the year. Of course he did that last year and then was convinced to come back but still too big of a risk for less than half a season rental.

I think you guys are overrating Jordan...hes pretty crappy for what hes paid. Good rebounder and provides weakside help but his man defense is lacking, makes a lot of stupid mistakes, low bball IQ, no skill on offense. He got bumped down the rotation last year in the playoffs in favor of Kenyon Martin. He has to sit out during crunch time a lot just because he can't make a FT to save his life. I think the Clips regret giving him the big contract, and as a Warriors fan I think we dodged a bullet when LAC matched our offer for him.

No way in hell he gets a near-max deal after this one. I think he'll get paid less, in fact (though a big season in his contract year could help his cause).

This trade would make the Clips instant contenders, though somewhat lacking in size. Boston is kind of screwed because KG won't waive his no trade clause and there's limited options for where you can send him. Bledsoe is getting a lot of hype, and hes a nice prospect, but I think he's being pimped a little too much. He didn't do too well running the show when CP3 was out, no? Hes talented as hell but kind of reminds me of the Monta Ellis-at-PG experiments GS used to try to make work.

I suppose you are right. It just doesn't seem like KG will have much left in the tank after this year. But I guess it is worth the gamble this year.

I think it would make them significantly more likely to win a ring this season. I don't really buy them as true contenders this season but they're not that far off.

They'd definitely be worse after KG leaves though, probably not going to add Bledsoe/DJ talent with their late picks again.

That would bring about $12.5 M off the books if KG retired at the end of the year. The Clippers would have $31.5 M in guaranteed contracts. Sign Chris Paul and other free agents. They'll be fine.

I see the Hawks are getting lots of calls for Josh Smith. I wonder if Portland is one of the teams? He fits our age group.

His true value is as an expiring contract. And it's not like Portland could send players for him that would end up benefiting Portland.

Have him retire, shed salary, and go hard after Dwight.

Is that the actual #? Does that include Blake Griffin's contract, which hoopshype doesn't include in their #?

If the clippers are really serious about contention; they should trade Jordan and Bledsoe for Howard.

Getting rid of Bledsoe might be a big mistake. Paul isn't always a guarantee to be healthy. Who do they have to run the point if he's on the shelf?

Now there's a rumor on ESPN that they're talking Bledsoe for Milsap.

I don't think they win anything if Paul goes down, regardless of who their backup is.
But, they have Billups who can run it if they need to.

They've shown they can still win when Paul's injured and Bledsoe is in. Chauncey Billups is a shell of his former self. I wouldn't want to rely on him for anything.

They're a .500 team with Bledsoe starting for them this year. 4 wins are us, Orlando, and Minnesota twice. They're not sniffing the Finals with Bledsoe as their starting PG and their current lineup.

I actually really like that trade for LAC. Milsap would give them a hard working guy who rebounds and scores inside.

Who's Griffin's backup? They already have Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups, too.

Okay millsap would be a mega back up at pf; but griffin is averaging 32-35 minutes a game. You think that millsap would be fine playing 15-20 minutes a game?

Well it's tall enough I guess. I think the clips should do it. I wanna see them lose.

I think you underestimate what Milsap can do. He's exactly the kind of blue collar player you want on a playoff team.

If the Clips can resign Millsap after they trade for him he would be a great player coming off the bench for them long term. Depending on the match ups he can play either forward spot. But he is another one of those players who needs to realize he is not a starter... and be good with it.
