THE "OFFICIAL" February 21, 2013 Trade Deadline Thread...

Thats what I'm saying. You give the guy a chance and if he fucks up well then he becomes high trade chap as his high contract expires.
Mathews, Smith, Hickson and a 2nd rounder for Gorden and there 1st round draft pick might not look that bad a few years after the trade is done.

See, I wouldn't want to give up Matthews because we want to increase the quantity of usable players on our team. Unless they were sending over Taylor as well, because I have a feeling that kid will be as good as or better than Matthews within a year or so.

I don't know the specifics - none of us do. All I know is that, based off of reports, 'Dre was disrespectful to Nate.
Not defending Gordon, or saying we should get him. Never particularly cared for him as a player. But I also wouldn't walk away from a trade over this IF I was interested in acquiring him prior to learning about this.

Miller made half of what Gordon is due next year.

Plus, the Blazers didn't do any better with Miller than they did the season before he came to Portland.

Who wants to pay Gordon $13.4m next year?

I sure hope we stay far away from Gordon. His injuries are very scary. Especially to a team like ours. I feel we have a Big 3 lite in Lillard, Batum, Aldridge. I think a center that can detour teams from attacking the middle at will and some consistent scoring off the bench would be heaven sent. Honetly, Dalembert and Evans or Reddick would make this team so much better.

Claver is a smart player who needs to gain some confidence in his shot
Freeland looks like he is figuring it out
Leonard looks like a nice agile big that can score and rebound
Barton is a wild man, but if tamed could be a decent rotation guy
Nolan has played so well the last several games and is a great locker room and practice player because of his bball IQ he would be a good keeper

All these guys will only get better

I don't know what this has to do with what I wrote - I was addressing the "disrespectful" aspect of Gordon, not the financial aspect...

Gordon should not even be brought up IMO, we have Wes who is better and a great team guy and have much more pressing needs. Gordon's overpaid at a ridiculous 13 mil next yr and and an ahole and simply not that good to top it off

I'd be in favor of most any deal that would get us Tyreke Evans, Evan Turner, Iggy, or OJ Mayo.
This summer trying for Jefferson, Kaman or Dalembert via signing would be good too.

I like our Lillard - ?? - Batum - Aldridge - ?? lineup going forward.

I would actually trade hickson for dalembert straight up before the deadline; so we would have less of a cap hold this summer.

I like all of those suggestions other than Mayo. It seems to me that he puts up empty stats. Kaman is another guy I would stay away from. Guy seems to be hurt more than healthy.

Jefferson is almost as bad on defense as Hickson is

But would Milwaukee?

Absolutely! They already have a much better center to replace dalembert. Hickson would agree because he would be on a playoff team. Also Milwaukee would really improve with hickson; plus they have the cap space to keep him after.

I'd be interested in acquiring Timofey Mozgov. He's not getting used in Denver (and they gave a $10M contract to McGee) but he's mobile and a good rebounder and shot blocker.

Green font, right?

It sure does seem quiet over at One Center Court. Maybe a little too quiet. Olshey seems to be a guy that has a history of deadline deals. Our roster might not be the best for that, but I would still be shocked if nothing was done

6 more days right? Historically deals wait until the last day (and often times the last minute).

Grant Hill odd man out

Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro has not had to make tough decisions regarding his rotation this season due to all the injuries, but now he has a healthy roster and some are going get limited minutes. This is true for Grant Hill.

Hill is the third-string small forward and shooting guard, which means he's currently the 11th-man in the rotation.

"I'm just trying to keep the rotation as consistent as possible," Del Negro said. "But I have all the faith in the world in Grant and he gives you everything he can when he's out there. I have no hesitation to put him out there at any point in the game."

Del Negro may sit some players from time-to-time to keep them fresh for the run to the playoffs and that will be Hill's chance to help the club.

Personally; I wouldn't mind having grant hill on this team. He would give much needed rest and should be cheap. I bet we could trade Babbitt and freeland for him. Or Babbitt and smith.
