So the Chiefs and the 40-Whiners
Lots of red
Go Chiefs
Do you enjoy raining on peoples parades?1 game away from the worst sport ever created being over for the year. Best part of the year is the 2nd week of February to the beginning of football. Cause we can be assured all the good sports are being played.

Were the least faithful? Huh?Can't believe the Chiefs opened as 1.5 favorites. If I was into betting I'd hop on SF to win outright. As much as it pains me to say it because "the faithful" are the least "faithful" ever but the 9ers are the most complete team in the NFL and I think will win this. Should be a great game though.
So clever and original! Nice!So the Chiefs and the 40-Whiners

This is the best 49ers team since 1994. Earlier in the season, I wasn't sure between this one and the 2012-13 one...I still think it's close, but a big differentiator is that this team is (largely) healthy for the playoffs while the 2012-13 team was dealing with injuries to Justin Smith and Aldon Smith and their pass rush disappeared in the playoffs, which killed them in the Super Bowl. This team got healthy at just the right time.
A major meme going around seems to be that Garoppolo is basically Trent Dilfer, even though his seasonal numbers point to him being a top-10 quarterback, both in volume and efficiency. I think it's actually great that Shanahan put him in bubble wrap for both playoff games and just kept handing off--neither the Vikings nor the Packers could stop the running game, meaning Shanahan didn't have to put any creative passing schemes on film. I suspect he'll have one ready for the Chiefs, to complement this rushing attack (which, despite the Chiefs being a pretty poor run defense, you can't expect to put up 200+ yards again).
That said, Patrick Maholmes is probably the most talented quarterback I've ever seen, he has plenty of good weapons and his own brilliant schemer/play-caller. I think if any defense can limit the Chiefs, it's the 49ers and their blazing team speed but Maholmes is the type of quarterback who might just be unguardable if he's on. Going to hope, though, that this goes like the 1985 Super Bowl, where no one gave the 49ers any hope of slowing a transcendent Dan Marino, and they largely shut him down. You could also point to the Giants shutting down the historic Patriots offense in the 2008 Super Bowl or the Seahawks shutting down the historic Broncos offense in the 2014 Super Bowl. Of course, the main difference between those examples and this one is that all three quarterbacks (Marino, Brady, Manning) were statues in the pocket and Maholmes is extremely athletic and mobile. That's what concerns me the most--if the pocket doesn't collapse in on him quickly and he breaks the pocket, he has the young Aaron Rodgers ability to hit huge unscripted plays while rolling out.
Should be a great game--great coaching and talent on both sides.
