Stupid NBAtv wont have it on until tomorrow morning. This should end the Bayless comparisons

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

I watched those leagues. In fact, I went to a freakin sports bar to watch those leagues. It was not "one high scoring game". Qyntel definitely dominated. I would love to see some facts or links to back up your statements.

You're right: he had more than one high scoring game. Here are the stats. He had 37, 23, 27 and 23. But we only won one of those games. Then Ime Udoka had 27 for us in the next game, which kind of gives you some idea.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

I am excited, and I'll watch the entire game again ($4.99 bay-bay), but the Hawks really did have at least 6 baskets go in and out.

Wins? Who brings up wins in summer league?

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

You guys who like to bring up Qyntel Woods as a cautionary tale about the summer league, it wasn't that he didn't have the talent. The problem was his 10c head. He was an idiot. Extremely talented, but couldn't get out of his own way.

Also, Maurice Cheeks tried to play him as a point guard..... so yeah.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

Actually it was more than one game because he led the Rocky Mountain Review in scoring one year.

Marc J. Spears
After leading the Rocky Mountain Revue in scoring, Qyntel Woods may be ready for a starring role.

Qyntel's problem was never talent. It was the lack of talent between his ears. Listen to one Lillard interview, and it's a ridiculous comparison by Jaynes the Troll.

I agree with all of this statement.

Woods at PG? I remember that, but seriously, that's almost as stupid as trying to make Austin Rivers a PG.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

It's not necessarily what he's doing in the measly Summer League. Its how he's doing it. Playing around like it just another day. His pick & roll with Aldridge should be filthy. That's always something that you have to look at with Lillard, how much better he can be when he actually has real talent around him. Even this SL must be breathe of fresh air to have some competent higher level players around him.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

That's because you posted it first, and I missed it!

Everything but the troll comment about Jaynes.... which I agree with

No doubt. I was there sitting behind the bench for both years he was at the RMV. The first year he was a jerk to everyone. The second year he really put out the effort to be engaging with his teammates, fans, ball boys, everyone. He looked happier and more into the game.

Two months later the scandal hit and he never looked the same again. But he was strong and skilled, but lacked the smarts.

Those JC guys I tell ya.

You know, there's being snarky and smart (see Nik & MM) and there's being a crotchety old fool. Guess which category Jaynes falls into.

I assume Nik is snarky, and I am smart

remind me what the scandal was.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

The stat that's most important to me that is easily calculable is Point Per Shot. I look for a ratio great than 1. Here's Lillard:
27/21
25/21
31/22

His best game yet. Lillard also had 7 assists which is what he was recorded as having in his first 2 games combined.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

remind me what the scandal was.

The Blazers waived him right after he pleaded guilty for Dog fighting.

http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/News/story?id=430724&page=1#.UAiu_GH2bSg

"Woods, who was Portland's first-round draft pick in the 2002 NBA draft, had been suspended from the team since Oct. 12, and as of the Trail Blazers' most recent game Tuesday night, Woods had lost about $280,000 this season.

His contract had called for him to receive $1,053,720 in salary this year."

Thanks for the reminder. So, 2 warning signs not really considered in the past: low motor, dumbassery.

Lillard with Calabro and Scott saying how he patterns his mindset after Gary Payton.

Love it!

Learn to play D like GP and there's no limit.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

9 pts, 13 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl and 1 blk for Leonard. Much more active, but the best stat of all was 1 pf. He found a way to be aggressive without committing stupid fouls.

He's still very raw, but with his size athleticism and skill set, he has a huge upside. The real key will be getting him to bring energy and effort every night over an 82 game schedule. He needs to realize that even when he's not scoring he has the ability to impact the game with his rebounding and shot blocking. Plus, if you hustle and bust your ass, you'll pick up a few easy baskets here and there, and if your teammates see you working hard, hustling down the court and fighting for position, they will reward you by get you the ball. Bring the effort consistently and the rest will take care of itself.

BNM

Watching Leonard.... Some nights, they'll be very long for him and us fans his rookie year. Others, we'll be floored. I still remember O'Neal as a rook - it was up and down. But I remember him tearing it up against Kemp during Kemp's prime. You knew the kid was just dripping with potential. I have a feeling ML will be the same.

I used to have a little sailboat called a Snark. If I still owned it I'd name it the SS Nik and MM.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

His pick & roll with Aldridge should be filthy. .
My concern is Aldridge's inability to set good picks, which hurts the PnR, but I agree with your overall point that once he has much better talent around him, he will look that much better.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

Leonard sets a pick. LA rolls, catches the pass and dunks that oop!!

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

NateBishop beat me to it re: Woods/Lillard comparison. There is none. Lillard is far more polished and clearly a smart player. He also looks to be someone who got out of a tough situation (Oakland is not for wimps) and wants to stay there. I have no fear he's another Woods.

Re: THE OFFICIAL: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks (Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.

Nice try, Dwight... you fat prick... but that summer league, in case you're keeping track at home (obviously not), was called "The Rocky Mountain Revue."

Try again, fat boy!
Thank you. I've been meaning to point that out every time someone makes the Qyntel comparison re how meaningless it all is. Other than Davis not playing, there is a lot of talent spread around the LVSL.
