I just saw the Blazers' new car for this race ... I'm a little worried.

Can you imagine the knee injuries if the Blazers tried to pull off a dance number like that? No thanks!

Pretty impressive win. I have to say knocking down the tomato cans (Minny, Toronto, etc.) on this latest streak didn't have me convinced, but after tonight they are actually starting to look like they belong in the top 8.

We hold the tiebreaker against NOLA right?

They've won 2 of 3. But we've lost 24 games, while they've lost 25. We're ahead of them outright.

No, not right now. They have a 2-1 lead in head to head matchups this season, so they have the tie breaker...for now.

TCOB. This is the kind of game a wannabe play-off team has to win at home.

Current standings:

5 NOH 33 23
6 DEN 31 24
7 UTA 31 24
8 POR 30 24
9 MEM 30 26

Next three days' games, with my predicted winners are in bold:
2/14--POR @ MIN, DEN @ HOU
2/15--PHI @ MEM, UTA @ PHX, NOH @ GSW
2/16--DEN @ MIL, GSW @ UTA, NOH @ POR

If things go my way, we would be 32-24 and holding the 5 spot going into the all-star break.

A big time rep. Freaking amazing. You missed one game (GSW/UTA). My advice: go buy some lottery tickets, go to Vegas, start picking stocks, whatever. You're on a streak.

Many thanks--I was pretty happy with that post. I think I will have to retire as a prognosticator though--you know, go out on a high note like Costanza would.

Magic number is 4 (Portland wins or Houston losses) to make the playoffs.

5. Nuggets 44-29
6. Blazers 43-31
7. Hornets 42-32
8. Grizzlies 41-33
-----------------------
9. Rockets 38-35
10. Suns 36-36
11. Jazz 36-38

Actually, if Houston loses out and we lose out too, Suns could pass us both. So right now, it's just wins. 4 Blazer wins and we're in.

We gotta stay at 6 or move down to 8. Not that I see us winning or anything, but we'd actually give SA and DAL a nice series that could go 6-7 games. No matter what Magic believes, I don't like us matching up with LA.

Honestly, we've a had a great season and we have a good solid team but I don't see us beating any of the top four seeds in a best of 7 series without home court advantage. It's sad.

Can you believe we haven't won a playoff series since we blew game 7 in L.A. 11 years ago?

Don't remind me. I began watching basketball since like 96-97. I haven't seen my fav team get much success in the playoffs in my life.

We'll have to beat the odds to move into the 2nd round since we don't have HCA. I don't like our chances, but anything could happen. I hope we can at least win 3 games in the post-season.

If SA keeps losing, LA may end up passing them for the top spot (only 3 games back in the loss column). In that case, we may have a shot at reaching the WCF. Call me a foolish optimist, but here's to hoping.

I don't want to face LA in the first round, but I think we have a good chance against SA/DAL/OKC. I really don't have much of a preference, would like to see us play well and get a good grove going into the postseason.
