Meh, who needs a GM? Way to prepare, Blazers front office.

LOSERS: The Portland Trail Blazers

The Blazers carry high salaries with a mediocre team, and we know for certain the GM has not spent the summer executing a new master plan. We know this because there is no GM! But common sense would suggest this team has to win a lot or change a lot, and one of their favorite tools of the past -- outspending rivals -- has grown trickier.

One vet player texting me, doubting he'll vote to approve deal. "We (bleeping) caved," he said. He's been entrenched on issues entire way.

There will be a significant number of players who will not vote to approve this deal, but there won't be a majority. The deal will pass.

Im not too dissapointed about no GM. The only real thing we have to do revolves around GO and using a exception if we have one to use. The GO situation really only plays into our hands if he signs with another team and then we just match it.

Yeah I'm not that concerned either, we signed Wesley Matthews without a GM. I'd rather have our scouts like Chad B. coming to a consensus on moves then have a crappy GM like John Nash. The Roy amnesty could be a big change but it sounds certain we'll use it on him so yes signing Oden and adding an MLE player are all we have to do.

I just hope this stops CP3 to NY.

Superteams have seriously tarnished the NBA for me.

wessywes2 Wesley Matthews
At least get some shirts made RT @KDTrey5: Mannnn im bouta to get a ratchet tattoo on my ribs that say "survived the nba lockout in 2011"

No luck for you on that front: http://sheridanhoops.com/2011/11/26/nba-lockout-agreement-settlement-details/

_Owners dropped their insistence on what would have been known as the Carmelo Anthony rule, preventing teams from executing extend-and-trade deals similar to the one that sent Anthony from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks last season. This means that if Dwight Howard, Deron Williams and Chris Paul want to leverage their way out of Orlando, New Jersey and New Orleans, they will still be eligible to sign four-year extensions with their current teams before being immediately traded elsewhere.

So basically nothing has changed?

Super teams can still be formed and the NBA will still be a joke

The thousands of workers who depend on the NBA for employment won. Congratulations HCP's wife!! The players and owners won. Neither side is happy, which is what was required to make a deal. The fans lost. I'm used to it. I am the 99%.

Fuck Derek Fisher. This only got done when he stepped aside a bit from real negotiations.

MLE details, per source (1/2): All teams can use full MLE as long as it doesn't take them more than $4M above tax.

(2/2): If team uses full MLE to get to/near $4M over tax, they CANNOT re-sign FAs and go over $4M. barrier. Could do so via vet minimums

New Orleans will have to sign someone morning of Dec. 9 to play 3v3 first day of camp. Currently have five players under contract.

Team personnel have been told lockout rules are still in place, so no communication with players yet. Might still be a day or more away.

NOH roster: CP3, Okafor, JJack, Quincy Pondexter, Belinelli, Ariza.

Nuggets have 3 players in China w/no-outs (JR, Chandler, KMart) but still have 7 signed players. The Melo deal still paying dividends.
