The Official S2 NBA Lockout Thread!

There isn't a young player who used lockout better to his advantage than Detroit rookie Kyle Singler, who has been fantastic in Spain.

Orlando's reality: Amnesty Gil's massive deal, and you're still just barely under the cap.

Teams still waiting to hear when they'll be allowed to open doors of practice facilities to players. Likely once deal is ratified.

So, how many more pages before this thread finally gets to die? I say it finishes at 126.

This is only page 76! Either way, lock this bitch up and throw it away!

I just hope this stops CP3 to NY.

Superteams have seriously tarnished the NBA for me.

So if Roy and Oden had stayed healthy, you would've been sickened by OUR Superteam?

Also, how many superteams ARE in the league? I count Miami and they choked in the Finals.

Were you against our All Star team in 2000?

not sure how a team that was created by drafting is the same as teams created by players forcing their way off of teams (or in the case of LeBron, not even giving his old team a chance at a decent sign and trade option).

As for the 2000 team, that wasn't 3 superstars on the same team. It was, at best, 1 superstar who was on his last legs and about 4 other decent players, and a knucklehead.

Forcing their way off in free agency? He was a free agent, he left. He did not force his way out. A decent sign and trade option? So he should have gone to a team he didn't want to, to allow them to get something in return? They got 2 first rounders out of it. Sorry they won't be top picks. He was a free agent. he doesn't owe them anything.

Forcing their way off in free agency?

Yeah, because he knew he was going to another team.

They got 2 first rounders out of it. Sorry they won't be top picks. He was a free agent. he doesn't owe them anything.

If he doesn't owe them anything, then they don't owe him anything. If a player is hurt? oh well, the team doesn't owe them anything.

Well, now you're just making a ridiculous argument that doesn't fit the discussion. Injury whatever, that has nothing to do with this. He didn't force his way out. he signed a contract, he honored his contract, he left when that contract was over. Where did he force his way off the team? He doesn't owe them choosing a worse team that might S&T just to help them, same way they don't owe it to him to S&T him to get him more money, or an extra year. But he didn't force his way off a team.

Greg Oden's agent, Mike Conley, says Oden is still not cleared for scrimmaging and basketball-related activities that have any contact.

Since we just got a deal done how is it he should be cleared for anything?

I guess you must mean his docs? I don't think this is off what he was suppose to be doing at this time is it?

It wasn't LeBron or Bosh that formed the superteam. It was MIAMI who cleared enough cap room to sign the three available "superstar" (if you want to call them that) free agents. Miami is the team that got it done. LeBron forced nothing.

But the Heat are only going to win 59 games this year!

They win that many games if they win 44 in the regular season and you're counting the playoffs.

NBA executives told that they can start talking to agents, and practice facilities will open to players on Friday, source tells Y! Sports.

Also: source says players union "authorization cards" have been sent out to be signed and returned to reform union.

To be clearer, teams can start talking to agents on Wednesday about deals for players. No deals can be official until Dec. 9.

NBA has already updated teams and told them that team facilities will now open to players on Thursday instead of Friday, sources tell Y!

One PR person can be on premises during players workouts. No coaches or GMs until deal ratified. Media allowed to attend.

Coaches and front office execs can't be in the gym at workouts. Trainers and strength coaches can assist, but can't supervise or participate
