Talks are over. Adam silver and Spurs owner Peter holt about to talk

Silver. Says league made several significant compromises. "We're saddened on behalf of the game."

Adam Silver: "We have certain core beliefs. ... We were unable to bridge the gap. ... We have no further discussions scheduled."

well it does seem we are getting close to a possible deal, I am happy about that but won't get let out a big GO BLAZERS until we have some confirmation. As far as Roy goes IMO he's a goner if the amnesty proposal is as outlined in recent posts

Where did you get this impression?

Adam Silver: "We understand the ramifications of where we are. We are saddened on behalf of the game."

I thought Cuban supposedly fixed the BRI issue. So many people called it a "minor" concern as opposed to the "system" issues. WTF is going on now?

Spurs owner Peter Holt says "we're still pretty far apart."

Holt: "We're still pretty far apart. ... We want to get to the point where all 30 teams have the opportunity -- nothing guaranteed ..."

Spurs' Peter Holt: "We're just very far apart. It was a disappointing last 40 hours. ... We've met 45 times the last two years."

With the NBA standing firm on an offer of a 50-50 revenue split, talks ended, source tells Y!

Holt: "It could be tough [to meet again soon.]"

Holt says mediators "weren't ready to give up. ... But both sides realized that we're too far apart."

Silver: "We have to regroup ... and determine what our next steps are."

Holt said #NBA won't make any announcements at this time about further cancellations.

Silver: issue that led to breakdown was the split of revenue.

KBergCBS: Silver: We made clear we were willing to go to 50 percent in an effort to compromise.

Silver: Union made slight move from 53 to 52.5 percent for players' share of BRI.

Silver said NBPA moved to 52.5 percent. Told NBA if league won't move above 50 percent, there's nothing to talk about.

KBergCBS: Silver said league was not willing to go farther than 50 pct and "there was nothing else to talk about."

KBergCBS: Holt: "Both sides felt, for lack of a better term, stuck. We've sort of worn each other out."

Silver declines to answer question about system issues other than saying still far apart.

Just my opinion and not based on anything other than a hunch, but forget it about it guys. these idiots may not scrap the whole season, but no hoops until after New Years.

As NBA tells its side of story, union is waiting to get its crack to spin things its way. This promises to get even uglier.

darrenrovell: If NBA cancels next 2 weeks, players would have lost $400M. The difference in BRI is worth $800 million over 10 years!

Spurs owner Holt believed things were getting too emotional and staying in talks now could've pushed two sides even further apart.

Silver says NBA's stance is players weren't willing to move forward to make progress on a deal.

Holt said NBA hasn't "thought about" involving George Cohen in future CBA talks.
