We are officially two weeks away from the trade deadline, similar to the around the league threads post all trade news here.

http://www.basketballinsiders.com/nba-pm-nuggets-looking-to-make-trades/

One team that has been mentioned quite a bit recently is the Denver Nuggets, and their general manager Tim Connelly even told the Denver Post that he is being “very, very aggressive right now” on the trade front.

Wilson Chandler
A number of teams have expressed interest in Wilson Chandler, including the Los Angeles Clippers and Portland Trail Blazers. It’s believed that Denver wants a first-round pick back in any deal involving Chandler.

Taj Gibson
Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls could be on the move, according to a report by Sean Deveney of Sporting News.

He says that the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons and Portland Trail Blazers are among the teams to express interest in Gibson.

I predict we won't know anything for 13 more days

He'll get some burn next season

We should help him get burn this season by moving him to a team that has the minutes to give.

Also guards aren't bigs, it doesn't take 3 years (especially after being a 4 year college player) to get acclimated to the game. It takes minutes and at best next year he would get around 15ish a game if he made a HUGE improvement, which I just don't see happening here.

Toronto trying to pry away Taj or Faried...

Clippers trying to land Wilson Chandler...

Like the past few years I think this deadline will be more smoke than fire.

His numbers actually aren't that bad. Though, he is putting up those numbers on the worst team in the league.

Vet minimum? Sure, but It depends on what Neil does at the deadline.

Meyers is rapidly developing at PF and T-Rob continues to rack up the DNP's.

The Raptors are one of several teams sniffing around for a roster upgrade, specifically at the power forward spot. A few names continue to surface around league sources when talking about Toronto, the biggest being Indiana’s David West, the next is Chicago’s Taj Gibson, then Denver’s Kenneth Faried.

Taj over Faried? Even with his down year I think you easily take Faried over Taj.

Unfortunately I don't think Faried is an option for Portland when you consider his contract - $2m this year, $11m next year.

I don't think Portland could even trade for him anyway. Doesn't that "poison pill" part of his contract make him untradable for those teams over cap?

I'd definitely take Taj over Faried right now. Faried's raw numbers are slightly better but Taj gets the edge because he can score one on one in the post (and mid-range), he protects the rim better, and he's bigger and can play at C for stretches no problem.

Of course Faried is 25 and Taj is 29. And they're quite comparable. Its tough finding bigs who can score and defend the rim though. Taj isn't a star but hes competent at both.

Yeah, a two or three is what they should be looking at.

I'd make room for Amare in a heartbeat.

Do a trade like this http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pj6ml8h (Getting a 2nd from Chicago), then turn around and do this http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=odj2fwd (sending our 1st to Denver). Then give Francisco Garcia a vet min.

Lillard / Blake
Matthews / Afflalo
Batum / Crabbe / Garcia
Aldridge / Stoudemire-Freeland-Leonard (depending on matchups)/ Wright
Lopez / Stoudemire-Freeland-Leonard (depending on matchups)/ Biyomba

Honestly, if we are bringing someone in then, the last position we need is PF.

I'm getting tired of the word chemistry. Amare is 32, plays 25 minutes on an absolute shit team off the bench... I'm sure that he knows he isn't a star anymore... It isn't 2008.

He is more of a center now. He has slowed down quite a bit but he is insanely efficient. I'd like him over Kaman.

If we have Kaman involved going out in this deal or another deal maybe.

But pure scoring (which is actually what we need most off the bench) it is Kaman for us rather than Amare.

Kaman is a better shooter/floor spacer but Amare is a better interior player which in the playoffs I'd prefer.

The shooting %s for the two are this btw:

At rim - Amare .690 / Kaman .645
3-10 - Amare .436 / Kaman .355
10-16 - Amare .333 / Kaman .408
16+ - Amare .321 / Kaman .442

I think Amare would play better next to guys like Aldridge/Leonard/Freeland than Kaman.

I am just going to say that I still think he is very low on the list of needs compared to other positions.

Wait till the last 2 or 3 days up to the trade deadline and there should be a poll added to this thread. It's a little to early to make one now though.

You never wait until 2 or 3 days until the trade deadline, so....
