I believe he means they are acting like it's the same franchise, just that it took a nap for part of its existence (basically the "Timbers" franchise was dormant from like 1990 until 2001 or something like that).

It's why you see the Timbers as "founded" in 1975, even tho this current team is not the same franchise, it kind of is.

If trying to go with T names ... I'd go with Tempest or maybe Twilights if you want to appeal to the millennial women that will probably need to support the team for them to be successful.

The Black Ferns is a Portland AF name.

Even “The Ferns” is better than The Fire.

I predict our team will be called the Portland Roses simply because of the pinkish red colour reveal and the Thorns connection (same owner)

After seeing todays IG post and caption, my final prediction for our WNBA team's name is

Portland Blaze

blaze - fiercely burning fire

If not that, Portland Embers, something fire related. We'll find out today!

apparently the outline is in the shape of Moda but I'm not sure how. I like the logo, but I wish the letter O resemballs a baskeball ;)
