Im fine with the name, and whatever, but I find the whole "it keeps Portland weird" stuff that seems forced.

Not big on Fire, just my opinion.
Not very Original imo.

Nah, the original name was tied into the word Blaze. I think it’s a good now as it was then. Better than having some lame one.
It’s good. Probably would have preferred Reign myself but Fire works.

So @SlyPokerDog serious question. Will there be an S2 PORTLAND FIRE page or is that not how it works? I can think of about 25 at least, members who are desperately waiting to bitch and complain about something related to this team. Give them a platform Sly…..ASAP!

Also, do those on here who every night claim the refs and the league are trying to make us lose games…..does the tinfoil conspiracies transfer over to women’s ball as well. Just want to know ahead of time who we are blaming for our losses.

the logo kinda reminds me of the Spitfire skateboard company logo

It’s actually the Tin Foil itself. It’s no longer made there in Troutdale. Reynolds Aluminum closed that plant.

Did they ever even really consider changing it?

Game Threads probably. IDK about its own forum page. Idk if we can do that? Sly?

I somehow knew you were going to say that.

If she wants sure. It would be nice for someone else to take that up. If not, I will see what I can do.
The game threads aren’t that difficult to create. C’Mon FAMS!

Bhathal Merage said the team hit several roadblocks in choosing a name for the WNBA franchise. It faced difficulty with intellectual property and trademarks and was repeatedly told no by the league, she said.

The team ended up choosing Fire and said it consulted the community throughout the process
