I'm down with Pioneers! My two youngest are Pioneer WBB players at Oregon City HS, and my oldest was a Pioneer WBB player for 4 years in high school and is now a Pioneer WBB freshman at Lewis and Clark.

GO PIOS!

*Edit*
I like the idea of sticking with Portland Fire, though. Rip City Roses is pretty good, too.
and the PIOS dominated women's HS basketball nationally for a number of years. Everyone in Oregon that's a women's round ball fan, knows of the Pioneers! And have for over 30 years....

Pioneers (I don’t give a fuck about Lewis and Clark feelings)

Roses

Rosebuds

Dames (If Lillard was involved somehow)

The Rip City Roses is completely untouchable as for as names go
In would bet most WNBA teams would want to be called Roses or Rosebuds. More like Thorns or Hemp

Portland Pride - there was an indoor soccer team in the 90s with this name that used a lion for the mascot. Not sure about using that mascot, but lots of ways to use the term Pride, especially in Portland.

Wow… If this happens.
Shakes head…. Wow.

Rip City is the Trail Blazers. The Trail Blazers are Rip City.
This WNBA team should stick with Portland _____ name.
And the Blazers own the trademark to Rip City. So I doubt they'd let the WNBA team use it. And I agree that they shouldn't.

The WNBA exists thanks to the NBA. Would Schonz be down with it? I think so.

Hell no

Are we concerned the owners own the Kings? Should we start 47 threads about the Rose Petals/Roses/Pioneers/Dames/Platypuses moving to Stockton or Fresno?

While we're at it, why can't we have a local owner!!?!?

THAT'S WHY WE SHOULD NAME THEM THE PORTLAND ANTIFA!

Sac has an aggressive business community, and they very well could get MLB before Portland. SLC too.
