Fire not very original…
Well, if you ask around, the city has been a Dumpster Fire (or on fire if you ask a certain idiot)...so they could lean into that.
It's a good question but the Chicago Fire have been around since 1997 and they didn't seem to have a problem with the Portland Fire when it was last used. Or possibly there was nothing that they could say beings it's a different league.Great choice if true…..wonder about the legalities. Wonder how the Chicago Fire NWSL team feels? I know there are multiple Giants and Rangers, but that shit goes back 80 years or something
At least Earthquakes is relevant to the Bay Area. Fire has zero to do with Portland.California Bay Area soccer team called Earthquakes. Never heard complaints.
Portland is definitely impacted by it's share of fire, even today. At least Earthquakes is relevant to the Bay Area. Fire has zero to do with Portland.
Fire is because of Blazers. It’s dumb. Fire itself is a fine name, but since they paired it originally with Blazers, it’s stupidPortland is definitely impacted by it's share of fire, even today.
Not to mention the Trail Blazers implies a relationship with fire (blazing trails). It could also relate to our history of Pioneers, including Lewis and Clark and the Oregon Trail who were also trail blazers, who relied heavily on fire.
I like it.
I disagree. I think pairing it with the Blazers is awesome. For the reasons I mentioned above.Fire is because of Blazers. It’s dumb. Fire itself is a fine name, but since they paired it originally with Blazers, it’s stupid
Would disagree. Trail blazing implies making a new path not burning or fire.Portland is definitely impacted by it's share of fire, even today.

No YOU’RE stupid! You’re just mad because you hate big white people and were never any good at basketball yourself! #BAMFire is because of Blazers. It’s dumb. Fire itself is a fine name, but since they paired it originally with Blazers, it’s stupid
But so is FIRE my guy.I think Reign is already taken, otherwise I'd be there with you. Fire is definitely getting my vote from the suggestions I've heard so far.
Speaking of fire @superfly4201 …….. #BAMWould disagree. Trail blazing implies making a new path not burning or fire.
Right, but the word "Blaze" has multiple meanings.Would disagree. Trail blazing implies making a new path not burning or fire.
Had no idea. But so is FIRE my guy.
My 1980’s state championship disagrees with you, and you’re basically white, and obviously big, and I like youNo YOU’RE stupid! You’re just mad because you hate big white people and were never any good at basketball yourself! #BAM

Agree with the logo, but we are not the Portland Blaze, we are the Trailblazers. Has nothing to do with Fire. I just find it a reach to connect the two and it’s a boring name. Pick a unique name to our region that doesn’t duplicate another pro franchise. Just my $.02.Right, but the word "Blaze" has multiple meanings.
And fire is powerful. Useful. Dangerous. Primal.
It would be a good symbol for any team. But especially for a team in this situation. Being in the same city as an NBA team which has the word blaze in their name. In which there was a WNBA team of the same name in the past.
Yeah, I get what you're saying. You make good points. But I like it anyway.Agree with the logo, but we are not the Portland Blaze, we are the Trailblazers. Has nothing to do with Fire. The etymology actually includes being the first to use or create a path and "blazing" signs along the path (using slashes or colors) to mark the trail.Trailblazing has nothing to do with fire.
Blazing a trail is going fast through a trail. Nothing more really.
I recorded my first wnba game and watched it in entirety. I was lucky enough to have it be the Fever vs the Suns.
I thought it was gonna be Malice in the Palace 2.0!!!!
As in,Pioneers?
