Jeff Van Gundy just predicted that the Rockets will blow out Portland.

Van Gundy has been a Rockets homer ever since he coached them. Understandable, I guess.

nevermind, I just rewound it. he could be right. they've owned us for a few years now. i saw rockets-blazers live twice last season and they killed us both times; ron artest owned us in sacramento too

Meh, this is playoff time baby. Anything can happen. This also is a different team than last year. I'm hoping Oden swags up and kicks some butts.

All I can say is that I'm comfortable with how we match up with Houston.

GO CHICAGO!

I hope KG watches his team get eliminated in the first round.

Bark at that!

That was sweet watching them lose. Ray Allen(though I hold nothing against him) was a complete choke artist. I mainly just hate the Celtics because of KG. I think it's safe to say they won't be contenders again in a great while. They'll coast a few more years with their aging veterans, then it's another rebuilding process.

They spend 15 years trying to rebuild last time, and finally just said fuck-it, and acquired a bunch of old guys.

I'd say Ben Gordon is more like an old Ray Allen. Young Ray Allen used to attack the rim. He was athletic. He slashed. Old Ray Allen sits back and hoists threes (like Ben Gordon).

You aware that we gave as many gifts to Bulls as the refs gave to us. Rondo taking multiple bad gambles, and the team opting for Ray Allen and Glen Davis over Pierce on two occasions.

A clear admission on your part that the refs cheated for your team.

Yeah, I think that's what I meant saying. A younger version of the old Ray Allen -- in other words, not that good.

why is the next game not on till 5? and the blazer game will get delayed waiting for that one to end. when there is a 3 hour break between games

:biglaugh: Yeah

I would love to have the young Ray Allen though. Ray was a really good player in his younger days.

Yeah, that's pretty lame IMO. A 12:30 East start time is pretty early. And they should allow a three-hour time slot for the earlier game of the night session today in case it goes into OT.
Oh well, good thing the Blazers are showing it on KGW.

I loved the younger Ray Allen when he was in Milwaukee. He even was in the dunk contest one year, which shows how athletic he was. Now? He's just embarrassing himself with his play, and reminds me of when Glen Rice was playing for the Lakers.

Yeah, but Allen's been slowly degrading for years..... Rice had a really good year, was injured, and then sunk into oblivion.

Man, Glen Rice was a STUD way back when. I remember going to the Final 4 as a kid, up in Seattle, and Rice was UNREAL. Some of the shit he pulled-off, both in the semi-final and championship games, was just absolutely CRAZY.

One of, if not the, best shooters in the history of the game. I really hoped, and still do, that Webster could one day be like Rice. They have a similar stroke, but Rice was 10x more confident in his shot.

Ray averaged more than 26 points just two years ago in Seattle. I thought he was on top of his game when he got traded.
As well as Rice when he got to the Lakers. But I thought he was pretty disappointing in LA though they did win a title his second season there.
He averaged a career low FG percentage his first season in LA, and shot his worst 3-point FG percentage in five years. Glen Rice in Charlotte was a pleasure to watch though. He had one of the best jumpers in the game.

If Webster could ever turn-out to be, literally, a fraction of the player that Rice was at his peak... then the rest of the NBA will REALLY need to look-the-fuck-out for this Blazers' team! The good thing is, Martell's still really young--about the same age that Rice was when I saw him killin' it at the Final Four--
so he could certainly improve himself enough to be in the conversation with somebody like Glen Rice, when it's all said and done.

It's just flat-out fucking insane how good we are right now, considering we have so many guys that are so young, talented, and constantly improving with each passing day. Where this team could be at (barring injuries, of course) with another year or two of seasoning and some key pick-ups either via FA or the draft... and boy, OH BOY!

Ray-Ray is done.

They have, what's-his-face, Tony Allen as his replacement to look forward to, I guess.

Allen was still playing well as recently as the first half of this year.

But he's fallen off the cliff, it seems.

BTW, have we ever seen a clearer indication of how deceptive the "+/-" stat can be? All 5 Boston starters had positive "+/-" scores, while only Rose and 2 reserves had positive "+/-" scores for the Bulls.
