Portland vs Memphis: Memphis has a 2 game lead, but right now, they own the tie-breaker (conference record) essentially giving them a 3 game lead with 5 games to play (them). They have a really tough schedule, and they are playing like a young team that hasn't been there before right now, but with only 2 games left to impact conference record. Portland might catch them, but the Blazers probably need to go at least 5-1 to do it.

Right now, I think the Pels are the surest candidate for the playoffs; they may very well pass Memphis for the 8th seed. If Portland finishes 9th and New Orleans is 8th, the Blazers are facing a major challenge. I think the Pels are a bad matchup for Portland. Winning both games would be difficult

Wow this could change a lot. All the best for jjj

Memphis has 5 games left, and is 32-36. We have 6 games left at 30-38. The tie-breaker situations won't come in to play because of the difference in games left to be played and games that were previously played. The closest we'd get is a half game in either direction.

That Clippers loss is pretty bad for the Blazers. If the Clippers had won they may have been closer to locking up the second seed with nothing to play for by the time they play us.

you're right....winning percentages control

Jaren Jackson jr out for season with torn meniscus....damn. Memphis isn’t going to win a game

Why do Clippers care about 2 seed?

I don't see NO losing any more games. They will finish 34-38.

PHX and SAC are too far away.
Why do you think Pelicans are good enough to go on a 6 game win streak? They haven’t done that all year. They aren’t that good. Phoenix may finish with better record than them. They’re a half game back right now.

This is their schedule:

The only game remotely difficult is against SA.

The JJJ injury is actually such a huge break for us. From my mind, he's their best player.

8. Pelicans 33-39
9. Blazers 33-41
10. Grizzlies 32-41
11. Spurs 30-41

Bad lottery spot here we come.

Injuries can happen to any team at any time. We all know this. Even more so when the playoffs actually start. These teams are already playing playoff intensity basketball. I would not be surprised at all if there were more season ending injuries.

Need at least 3-2 I think, and we get ourselves in a play in. Root like hell for NO and San Antonio to lose as much as they can, especially in games they shouldn't.

Think the schedule should take care of MEM. Even if they win, it's gonna be hard for them to create separation vs #9.

San Antonio is going 2-4 at best imo

Everything is difficult for a crappy team. Only “easy” game there is Washington. And why do you underestimate Orlando? They’re a solid playoff team.
NO will be favored in every matchup remaining.
