Just watched it. Fucking masterpiece! So much better than what Whedon did to it. Really enjoyed the extended backstories and expanded scenes. A few Notes...

  • The biggest thing that upset me was no new green lantern. What the heck?
  • Loved that the Alanteans and Amazon's built temples for their boxes. Man just fucking buried it in the ground!
  • Steppenwolf looks a ton better.
  • With the backstories and extended scenes everything makes sense...well alot more sense.
  • Was glad to see the Martian Manhunt
  • Loved Supes black suit.
  • The scenes with the chernobyl family were removed. No opening Batman scene baiting a parademon. No superman video on the phone. Alot of the funny stuff was removed like the Flash zooming around the batcave and sitting in the batmobile and alit of quips. No Superman vs Flash race. I was trying to figure out what else was. Most of the original was there just expanded on.
  • Who is the humanoid dude with Darkseid? Is he a Krypton?
  • The ending fight scene not to mention the first fight scene of the justice league vs Steppenwolf were alot better.
  • The Anti Life equation is apparently on Earth and set ups a sequel as Darkseid is coming for it the old fashioned way.
  • Steppenwolves eyes turning blue? They didn't in the earlier fights right?
  • So the Joker scene...there are alternate realties...a multiverse where different outcomes most seemingly bad (Darkseid winning and turning Supes) have occurred. A bit confusing. The key is saving Lois in the past because her breathing or not is the deciding factor in whether Supes is good or bad.
  • Joker killed Robin, Batman killed Harley Quinn, and Deadshot is cool with Batman now.
  • Did Cyborgs dad have to die? Couldn't he have hit the button outside of the box to superheat the mother box?
  • How does Steppenwolf not know Earth is the lost world that Darkseid failed to take? The mother boxes are there. He is familiar with the Amazon's, Alanteans etc, but doesn't know earth is the planet Darkseid failed to take back in the day?
  • Steppenwolf and Co. are afraid of Kryptons and Lanterns. We know Lanterns are spread out across the universe as guardians. Are Kryptons too? Did others escape Krypton like Kal-el? Are they protecting other planets too? Was there a Krypton back when Darkseid first tried to take Earth?
  • Sequel?

"There are no protectors here. No Lanterns. No Kyrptonian. This world will fall like all the others."

I know I'm being anally nitpicky here (I do this with just about all superhero movies), but how's that chick dead from being crushed by a horse? Come on, they supposed to have superhuman strength, fight nasty flying monsters, gets thrown against concrete walls and they get right back up. But a horse lay on her and she dies?

The horse didn't lay on her it fell on her, but yeah I hear you. My wife was like why doesn't she just lift the horse off of her?

They aren't all as strong and durable as wonder woman. Only she has "the ancient blood". Steppenwolf goaded her on saying she was far stronger than them and could have saved them...

The other Amazons are still baddass (they'd kick our asses) but human none the less. A one ton animal falling on them will kill them.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/zack-snyder-reveals-plans-supermans-184434400.html

Synder's plan was to have Superman's kid be the next Batman. Superman and Lois's son, Bruce Kent would have inherited the Dark Knights cape. He would not inherit his father's powers, since he never experienced the heavier Krypton gravity.

On the twentieth anniversary of Batmans death, Superman and Lois would have brought him to the batcave and basically said, "It's your's, Bruce Wayne would be proud to have you take over as Batman."

Bruce Wayne would have died in JL 2 or 3 saving Lois.

There was also a proposed Bruce Wayne/Lois Lane romance for JL1 that would have led to Bruce having misgivings with bringing supes back..

Apparently, Lois's baby (she is shown to be prego in the Snyder cut) is Bruce's and not Superman's. Uh oh. That's gonna be a hell of a Jerry Springer episode.

He was to find out when Flash comes back in time to warn him. It's your baby...you have to save Lois. That is why "Lois is the key".

Green Lantern(John Stewart) was supposed to be the cameo at the end instead of the Martian Manhunter. Synder said it was already filmed. I wonder who he cast?

So far I'm 90 minutes in and it's actually quite good. Doesn't feel like it's dragging on much.

Still want the JJ cut of ROS, damnit.

I don't know what it says, but I just now noticed the movie is not in wide screen, but 4:3.

The more I've thought about it, Batman doesn't get a good look in JL. Batman is supposed to be badass. But, it's very emphasized he doesn't have any powers (his super power is that he is rich) and is just a dude in a mask.

He wears this Badass special mech suit against Supes in BvS but when they are fighting powerful alien dudes he just wears his regular old suit and the only new gadget is special gauntlets that don't last long.

As for the rest of the team. Is it really much of a team? Superman is their team. There plan in JL and in plan sequels is let Superman beat the bad guy.

The fact that Synder was going to have Batman sacrifice himself shows how expendable the rest of the team are.

Superman is the team

Well, there was that one time Flash went back in time to when Superman was alive so he could save the team. Dang it Chris.

Daughter and I just watched Book 1 before I had to come into work. I like the old 4:3 style. Makes it feel not as pretty and cleaned up.

I enjoyed the Snyder Cut a lot. I've developed a negative opinion of his work because usually whenever I've watched one of his movies, it's quite obvious scenes were cut out in order to bring the running time down, leaving the finished film feeling incomplete. 4 hours is ridiculous though.

People don't understand that widescreen is cutting picture from the actual scene. The top and the bottom. IMAX format is actually giving you ALL the actual scene and you have about the same amount of black on your TV.

So the Snyder Cut is breaking records all over the world. CEO of WB said they aren't continuing the universe even before the numbers come out. AWFUL at capitalism.

HBO Max is our only chance at a sequel. God speed.

I finally watched this yesterday and...

THAT WAS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL!

Me too. 4 hours though..... yikes.

Two complaints, or is it really one complaint...... why does DC continually need to screw over Wonder Woman/Gal Gadot? She is such a fun character and a great actress and they keep screwing her over with these on the nose scenes that just take me out of the moment. There was two moments specifically (and I don't remember if these were in the original cut or not) but they were both just super cheesy. Completely unnecessary. The first was during the bank scene where she kicks the crap out of the bad guys. There's a class of girls in the room and she goes over and one of the girls says something like "when I grow up can I be you?" and Gal says "Sweetie you can be anything you want to be." It reminded me of the super cheesy (on purpose) super hero scenes from The Boys. Just super cheesy and I don't understand why they need to do it. You have this awesome female superhero. She's kicking the crap out of everyone. You have an awesome actress. I really like Gal Gadot. Why can't that just be enough? You don't need to take the audience out of the moment and make sure they get the message. People aren't that stupid. Simply by having awesome female characters that are written well, you're going to build on that and there will be others that come along. But instead they wrote that trash sequel for her which flopped hard and had moments similar to this one and that just set them back. It killed the momentum. It just really disappoints me.

The other moment was when WW was fighting Steppenwolf and he says "she's mine" and she replies with something like "I'm no ones" or something to that effect and I just rolled my eyes.

Gal Gadot a good actress? Yeah, if acting is just smiling and looking really, really, really good (she's gorgeous). Her acting is so one dimensional.

I find superhero movies to be super cheesy, but this one is better than any of the ones from Marvel.

She's not Meryl Streep, but she plays a super hero well. She's likeable. She's believable when she does action scenes. That's the most you can ask for.

So this was basically a retelling of the Wizard of Oz but with superheroes.

You had flying monkeys, Dorthey/Diana, a man with no heart, no brain, and twister was The Flash.

Why does the Oriental need to be the director of "nano" technology. #tac
