No--IMO, Burks is a better potential return than Leonard, and Exum is likely a better prospect than Harkless. Johnson as an expiring contract filler is just a bonus.

Yeah, the package Utah could put together is easily more attractive than ours (big 3 exclusive, of course)

Agree to disagree then. Don't see how Exum is better than Harkless, nor do I see why the Knicks would prefer him. They're set in the backcourt.

And like I said, we don't necessarily have to include Leonard.

Oh and in my scenario were giving up Vonleh as well, FYI.

Best offer: Harkless, Vonleh, Davis, Connaughton for Melo

Ideal offer: Harkless, Vonleh, Leonard for Melo

I really think Portland has the most to offer, relative to other teams.

CJ: Hey Melo, it's CJ.

Melo: Who?

CJ: You know... the guy who looks like Urkel?

Melo: Who?

CJ: I play for the Blazers....

Melo: Who?

CJ: In Portland?

Melo: Where?

CJ: In the Pacific NW?

Melo: New phone.... who dis?
CJ and Melo (and a few other Nike/Jordan brand dudes) have trained together for a few years now in NYC at the Terminal 23 gym btw. It's always on his IG/snap.

Melo: I didn't know Maine had an NBA team. You mean the Red Claws.

You left one out...

J/K, of course. C.J. is one of the most visible players in the league, both on social media and doing interviews on TV and writing articles for The Player's Tribune, etc. Everybody knows who he is.

Woj said on The Jump that Portland players have reached out to Melo.

Followed that up by saying that the idea of Melo along side Dame, Cj, Nurk is intriguing and the infrastructure in Portland is solid however Melo isnt considering waiving his NTC to Portland yet.

Put it on a billboard, IMO: "Carmelo, come to Portland to be fleetingly hailed as a hero, ranted at in game threads for letting your man go by you and finally added to the pantheon of traitors when you leave. But, more importantly, fuck Houston fans."

Paul Allen is so rich, and so geeky - that he probably started it when Nurk was 1 years old. He did with Lillard. Early days in technology and all, he ended up with CJ.

Cloning degradation, where each successive generation of clones is slightly inferior to the previous generation, is a common occurrence.

You are correct that Nurk was cloned at the age of 1, but it wasn't Paul Allen who was responsible. It was Stan Kroenke. Where did you think Nikola Jokic came from?

We need to include a bad contract to make it work but I have Vonleh in there too. It needs to be 2 young up and coming players on team friendly deals (Harkless, Vonleh) 1 bad Contract (Lenoard or Crabbe) and either a 2019 1st rounder or shabazz to make the math work and entice NY to take Crabbe's contract.

The biggest problem is we're over the tax line and need to match money (up to 125%) and melo has a trade kicker so his incoming salary is like 27-28m per year

Hark Vonleh Crabbe 2019 1st would be probably as rich as I get for melo Knicks probably say no because that is a ton of salary for them to take on (~35m next year) and none of those guys are really anything other than role players.

I still think that, if a trade happens, itll be Davis, Harkless, Meyers, and a 2018 1st. MyLe isnt as bad of a contract, Davis is expiring, and they get what they wamt in Moe and a.pick

Was Perry in the magic front office when they drafted Harkless?

For the record, Woj didn't say the players reached out to Melo, just that they think having him would vault us into contention with everyone but the Warriors.

Not sure if Melo is with his wife or not but I think that plays as big a part as anything. Happy wife happy life. Players just don't appreciate Oregon till they've lived here a while well besides the taxes and tree huggers

Paul Allen is rich enough, and geeky enough, he should definitely be working on cloning Nurk - if he isn't already.

But then we'll be arguing that Nurkic and MacNullum have too similar skill sets and we need to trade one.
