I still see no way that Houston gets the deal done. It would have already happened.
I don't see it either. Unless there is a 3rd team or someone caves. I do not remember Morey ever caving. Which makes me think he will be a Knick for awhile more. Will make their Media day interesting.

I would love to watch that media day. Awkward!

lol exactly. Rockets fans are delusional. Yeah I'm sure the Knicks were just holding out until September for Tim Quarterman.

Btw the Knicks don't even have use for either Gordon or Ariza. Those two are AT BEST just pieces they would move to another team. Houston literally has nothing to offer the Knicks.
Your saying the Knicks would not want the 6MOY? Knicks would accept Gordon/Ariza and Ryan for Melo. Ariza is expiring, and Gordon is 6MOY making $8M per. Hell of a value.

Won't happen, but they would accept it.

I still wouldn't do that if I was New York. I'm pretty sure the new GM has a brain on him. This means that he knows the Knicks need to go all in on a rebuild. He knows it. Getting Anderson and Gordon isn't helping a rebuild.

Quaterman was just a throw in on a NG contract to make the money nicer. They would cut him for cap space. If he is still with the rockets, he will be cut before his contract becomes fully guaranteed.

No they wouldn't. They're rebuilding. Gordon's a 29 year old with an injury history, doesn't fit their timeline. And in NO trade scenario would they ever take Ryan Anderson. Literally makes zero sense. They would be stuck with it. They may as well just hold onto Melo and take the cap savings after he opts out.

Gordon is a lights out 3pt shooter 40+% and not a - on defense, at $8M per he is a steal. I'll give a maybe on Ariza, he is more a glue guy. Solid D, can't shoot if he has a strong player to defend.

Don't get me wrong, I do respect Gordon's game. He does have an injury history that we can't ignore, but he is a fine player. He just doesn't fit a rebuilding team though. I don't think the GM is looking to add a veteran 6th man right now. He is going all in on a rebuild and if anything EG would just stunt the growth of young players, and add a few extra wins, thus ruining the chance for a higher pick. There is no reason to add him. Zero.

This should be an interesting weekend. All kinds of rumors floating around. Det was rumored as 3rd team cause SVG likes Ryan.

They also have Courtney Lee who pretty much does all the things Gordon does and then some.

Bruh, "Why wouldn't they want 6MOY" is such a strawman argument.

1.) Awards don't mean shit, so don't use them in arguments
2.) They have 2 SGs better than Gordon. Hardaway just got paid $17M/yr, and he's young, so you know he's gonna start. Courtney Lee shot a better percentage from 2pt, and 3pt, and provides much better defense than Gordon.
3.) Why would they want a veteran in return for Melo? All Gordon does for them is give them something like the 8th pick instead of the 6th or 7th pick. He doesn't help them at all. They're rebuilding.
4.) Why would they value Ariza's expiring contract? Melo's expiring too. If they valued clearing money off the books next summer that much, then they wouldn't value Gordon at all, as he's on a longer deal than Melo, as a position they don't need!

THEY WOULD NEVER ACCEPT THAT.

These Rockettes fans are still holding on to their strawman arguments with no logic or substance. It's comical.

Yet, the Melo to Portland rumor is bogus because McIntyre or whatever his name is was one of MANY journalists who said CP3 to SAS talks were heating up?

Lmao.

Detroit is the only team I could see stepping up as a 3rd team. With SVG's history pairing Anderson with an inside threat, I could see it. And the team has made enough stupid deals lately to make it believable.

And who is DET gonna give up? Harris is better, younger, and on a cheaper contract. They don't have many pieces NY would value that they'd consider trading. I can't believe ya'll actually still believe there's a decent chance at this happening.

Hou is not offering Gordon or Ariza. Ariza helped bring CP3 to Hou. Gordon is the best spot up shooter we have.
Wrong, NYK doesn't want them. I explained above 4 reasons why the thought that they'd want them is BS.

Imagine being a rockets fan with this idea that Morey is just sitting on his best offer and is waiting for the exact right time to fax it over. LOL.

He could still have his young 5 starting. Having a veteran off the bench is a plus. I'll give you the injury history. Thought the same thing about him and Anderson when Rockets signed them. What the hell did we just do and how much for an injury prone Anderson? EG played 75, Anderson did get hurt taking out the trash (cut his thumb). So you just can't over play him, and he should be good.

James Harden and Chris Paul are frauds. Chris Paul has never gotten to the conference finals in his 12 year career, and he chokes in the playoffs every year just like Harden. James Harden and Chris Paul are floppers, and they both get exposed in the playoffs when refs stop calling their BS.

2012: Harden choked in the Finals when he played for OKC while Durant averaged 32/6 on 55/40/84 splits, and Westbrook averaged 27/7/7. Harden was nowhere to be seen.

2013: Harden choked in the first round against a team missing Westbrook.

2014: Harden choked in the first round losing the first two games at home to the Blazers. Harden had an extremely inefficient series.

2015: Harden choked again. Harden got benched in a elimination game in the previous round and needed Josh Smith/Corey Brewer/Dwight to save him. Then in the next round against the Warriors, the Rockets lost by 35 at home in game 3 and Harden was terrible. Harden broke the record for most turnovers in a playoff game ever in game 5, and the Rockets were eliminated.

2016: Harden choked against a team missing Curry (back to back league MVP).

2017: Harden choked against a team missing Kawhi and Parker. Harden lost by 39 points at home in game 6 to a Spurs team missing Kawhi and Parker and got eliminated. Harden had 3 times as many turnovers than field goals made in game 6. Harden lost at home by 39 points to a team missing a consensus top 5 player and best 2 way player in the league. After the game, 5 Hall of Fame players said Harden quit.

Since 2013, Harden has gotten to play against teams missing Curry, Kawhi, Westbrook, and Parker in the playoffs. Harden has lost 3 series since 2013 while having a sizable injury advantage. Simply put, James Harden is a perennial postseason choker. The two perennial chokers of this generation are teaming up. Lebron (3 rings, 4 MVPs, 3 Finals MVPs), Curry (2 rings, 2 MVPs), Durant (1 ring, 1 Finals MVP, 1 MVP), Kawhi (1 ring, 1 Finals MVP), and Westbrook (1 MVP) all have 1 or more of the following: championship ring, Finals MVP, MVP. James Harden and Chris Paul have never won anything. They are frauds.

The Rockets are also coached by all time postseason choker Mike Dantoni.

Damn! Welcome to RipCityTwo! Strong first post!

Bro, WTF are you talking about?

Gordon has shot over 40% once in his 9 year career. He shot 37% last year. Courtney Lee is a better shooter, and defender.

Gordon isn't a negative on defense? He had less than a steal per 36 minutes last year. He had a 113 DRTG. He had a -1.4 DBPM.

Gordon is making $8M a year? It's actually over $12M. You don't even know your own players.

The Knicks aren't trying to get better now, they're trying to get better for the future. You have no assets that will help them get better for the future, which is why the Melo to HOU trade hasn't happened.

It's like you're trying to say 2+2=8, because you like 8 more than 4.

Wrong, NYK doesn't want them. I explained above 4 reasons why the thought that they'd want them is BS.
Nothing wrong with my statement. Hou will not trade Ariza or Gordon. NYK not wanting them is debatable. Gordon was 75/82 for us. Your strawman analogy is overstated.
