Melo is/was our best chance of being really interesting this year. He makes us a significant contender, even more so than OKC or Houston IMO. It's not unreasonable to be unsatisfied with Vonleh, Aminu, Lenoard, Davis, PF rotation it's one of the worst PF position groups in the NBA.

I'm not sure if Melo makes us that much better. I want him more from an entertainment standpoint. I'm very unsatisfied with our role players but the emotional up and downs of this board over the Melo saga are getting old. Reserve judgement until something actually happens.

Even if he doesn't pick us, it'll be fine. We have Nurk. We're good.

We have what NY wants and he knows that. He may eventually come here but it's a little disheartening knowing he isn't gung ho about it. Out of all these clowns excluding woj, Sam amick is the most reliable in my opinion.

Here's my theory:

Olshey kept Woj quiet on us being a team on the expanded list. NYK are using it to gather more interest from said teams. We're ACTUALLY on the list, have the trade in place, and NYK just wants to drum up more offers. But no other team can offer it.

It's like having a boyfriend/girlfriend who is timid about dating someone. The other person will be like "Sure, date around"... they do this knowing they are gonna get them back anyway.

Barring any season-ending injuries to either Steph or KD, the league might as well hand the championship to them. That being said, let's just roll with our young guys and see what we got. Melo doesn't come across as someone who WANTS to be in POR despite the recruitment efforts from our awesome backcourt.

Harkless for sure. Then either Vonleh or a protected pick. Davis/Connaughton or Leonard for salary filler. Although I think if NY was smart they'd ask for Layman instead of Connaughton.

If Leonard goes it'd be bittersweet. I'd be so happy he's off this team as a player, but as a person I'd fear for the mental onslaught he'd most likely go through being in that city'
