At the end of the day Stren moderated people responding to someone with a language barrier who was throwing benign insults.
My only issue with his moderation of this thread was him actually missing the reason why those posts were posted.
If you're going to be a mod for anything. You need to put yourself outside the situation and figure out whats going on.
If you're unwilling/unable to do that, then frankly you're not doing your job.
Which will lead to people mentioning why X was allowed, yet Y was deleted.
You're going to miss things, but for you then to come in and seek approval for your moderation.. Even though you clearly missed things... is silly(from other mods who've asked you in the past to actually do something.)
Then to come in and double down on your post while tagging two people is further failing to moderate. Considering we're STILL talking about the moderation, and not the thread.
Stren could've said. 'yeah my bad I missed some things, will get them now'. He could've left it alone, he could've pm'd people directly. Instead he chose to post publicly.

Then you claim you're going to come in and lock this thread? All because you failed to properly moderate?

At the end of the day if you're going to act superior to someone in any aspect of life(which if you look at it, is an insult itself). You're going to get some clap back.
This poster has done it multiple times over his tenure on sportstwo.com.
It's been allowed to clap back at him, only for this time it wasn't.
Because he pm'd a mod? Hilarious. Next time he posts some bullshit I'll just pm a mod and expect it to be deleted as the precedent has been set.

Edit - oh I deleted my first post. No mod did so. I did. Hopefully that's clear.
Edit #2 proper pronoun useage. I don't want to confuse stren with the guy who has the language barrier.

AFAIK, nobody has been banned or suspended. And the people who have been arguing all have issues with the team's direction and want changes. The arguments have been about how people are conducting themselves within the forum, not about people's opinions on the team.

I realize how little my opinion matters, but as an American that doesn’t mean I won’t spend some time telling you guys what my opinion is anyways. :).
A lot of the time I agree at least partially with Gronk. The issue to me is that he’s been saying it non-stop, which means almost everyone is tired of reading it. Every time he posts it escalates very quickly, there’s a lot “insults” or borderline insults that goes both ways, from what I’ve read.

A fight almost always takes at least two to one to instigate and one to counter. I’ve read plenty of posts with him involved where he has done both, but we can all only really control ourselves and we can always choose to not counter him if he’s instigating it. It’s easy enough to scroll on by we don’t have to respond no one “wins”.

I didn't follow the argument in this thread....I have had that guy on ignore forever....sort of puts those things out of context....I agree about reigning some folks in around here….starts with us though. Use that ignore button ….

That's BS, and an excuse for hot-tempered people to try to insult others. Most of the time, the dude is personally insulting people who haven't insulted him. Don't give him some BS cover of "someone always instigates it".

It's easy to scroll by? Yeah, once. Twice. Not after 100 times though

Are you kidding me?! You have more fights here than anyone... and you admitted yesterday you made a false claim of what I said. I never personally insult someone for no reason... go find the 100 time I’ve done it without instigation... you can’t because you are making stuff up again... you get in more fights in here than anyone, so maybe you should go look in the mirror

It takes quite literally the same amount of effort to scroll by it the 100th time as it does the 1st. Of course the effort accumulates. Anyways I’m not making excuses for any of you or myself to insult other people, but believe what you will.

I admitted you're deluded expectations of who your opinion should matter to weren't apparent to me. But nice to know that if someone concedes an inch with you, you'll try to take a mile.

1.) People don't usually "attack" you, they call you out, there's a difference.
2.) A lot of the people that do so have the same opinions as you.

Nope, no crime at all; but you shouldn't be surprised by aggressive, abrasive posting receiving aggressive, abrasive responses. And tbh, if you were aggressively, abrasively posting how Olshey is a great GM and Dame and CJ will win titles together, you'd still likely receive the same type of responses.

And yes, people can ignore you instead of throwing jabs and trying to bait you. And you can ignore them instead of throwing jabs. We all have the same options to ignore or respond.

I am surprised people don’t just put my on ignore like they say they will... and I never whine and snitch about people’s responses like others... I’m a grown man and can take the heat

Understood. I don't ignore everyone because I don't like to read fragmented conversations. I'm sure many take a similar tack.
