Did you ever learn what FTA meant?B.S.!
(Forgot that one.)
He didn't call me either of those, so I don't know them!
Besides expressions, there are stories! For example, I refused to shake hands with Jimmy Doolittle...he was trying hard and I wouldn't do it. At Wright-Patterson. I got a thousand stories...Don't get me started!
The period was the late 60s when FTA was the overwhelming sentiment of those of us who were in there because guys like Dan Quayle and Donald Trump very craftily avoided the draft. If you had money then there were ways to avoid getting yourself killed or maimed.
Speaking of zippers, I think @Lanny's barn door is open. Again.Stick it up your butt
Jump off a cliff
wise guy
They'll knock your teeth down your throat faster than your head can swim
Keep your shirt/pants on
Don't make an ass out of yourself
You're interfering again
As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted
Children should be seen and not heard at the dinner table
...plus more that I'm not remembering right now, but they reverberate through my mind daily
(Say those with anger, holding a threatening belt. You're new here. You don't know that my father was a Colonel.)

"Bone Spurs"?Every college student, Democrat or Republican, tried to escape the draft. It wasn't just demonstrators.
Example: My freshman roommate had a sad face about his congressman not picking him for the Air Force Academy, despite being valedictorian from his Milwaukie, Oregon high school. He used to debate me in favor of the war. Yet when his number was chosen in the lottery, he was panicky about being drafted.
The point is, it wasn't just the rich, which is the myth they tell you 50 years later at your veterans' meetings--the fact was that no male student wanted to be drafted. (I barely succeeded in not being drafted. I've told the story here before.)
No...when you go to the physical after two tabs of Purple Haze LSD chances are they are marking you down as 4f...….when I went in I didn't know this trick yet....I discovered the stuff when my drink was spiked on the base and I was on guard duty....try taking your first LSD trip while patrolling a military base...not the best introduction to tripping....I woke up the next day in a Mexican massage parlor"Bone Spurs"?
He certainly didn't look washed up tonight.
Just thinking about doing that makes my head hurt. You've gotta have a lot of time.Reading this thread from the beginning is hilarious.
He looks like he has to really force himself to expend energy on either end of the court. Other than hanging out in the key hunting for rebounds, and blaming teammates for his own lazy defense, he had a good game. We'll need a lot more of that.He certainly didn't look washed up tonight.

QFTThe mere fact that he can get whistles from the refs, be a low post threat we haven't had in years and keeps Tolliver and Mario on the bench...... the experiment is a success so far. Regardless of our record.

That and the fact that he can attract free agents to Portland …..if we could swing a deal for Iguodala, when Nurk gets healthy we'd be a contenderThe mere fact that he can get whistles from the refs, be a low post threat we haven't had in years and keeps Tolliver and Mario on the bench...... the experiment is a success so far. The bench treats this guy like a Deity. If he makes a routine jump shot they go crazy. That and the fact that he can attract free agents to Portland …..if we could swing a deal for Iguodala, when Nurk gets healthy we'd be a contender

https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-of-retirement-this-aint-a-damn-farewell-tour"I got the call saying, 'Portland is interested, what are you thinking?' I just said, 'Look, I've been in this situation before. Just tell me when it's something we can really make happen. Tell me when it's real.'
"It really wasn't any conversations. I was continuing to go on with life and hanging with my fam and doing my other business ventures. Then Dame called me. CJ called me. Zach called me. Everybody, a lot of people texted me and called me. But it had to be something that I felt comfortable with and that they felt comfortable with. We got on the phone, got comfortable and went from there."
Makes more sense than collins. No way Collins has melos number

At some point people are gonna figure out 35 is not old. Even more so when he had a year off and is completely healthy.Yeah he looked more athletic than I have seen in the last couple of years. He looks to be in good physical shape for 35.
Not sure how long it will last, but for right now he is moving pretty well. Not saying he "exploded to the basket" last night but I was surprised with how he attacked the basket a few times.

I LOL'd watching his interview when he was talking about how humble he is
I love irony.

I think this is a case where a guy and the team were just an ideal fit for each other.
If last night wasn't an anomaly and the Blazers are starting to figure it out, this team could be a monster by playoff time. Presuming you have Nurk and Zach making it back, everyone else's health holding up, Ant gaining confidence and consistency going forward, Baze getting in tune with his teammates so we don't have the bad passes and turnovers.
As long as we can keep from being buried by New Year's Day, this roster could be the most complete in the West by the end of the regular season in terms of inside-outside, depth at every spot and players who can create shots and players who can make them. The roster has room to be upgraded, too, because you have the open roster spot, you have the option of dealing Whiteside if Nurk returns, and you have a movable player in Herzonja (could be this year's Stauskas).
I know there are a lot of ifs in that, but it's possible and a pretty exciting prospect.
But just adding another threat on the offensive end really opens up things for this team in a lot of ways.
If we move Hezonja, who will run the 4th string in blowouts?
He was 0-8 on 3 pointers 2 games ago.Melo is the first power forward since LMA that can consistently hit from mid-to-long range.
